It work indeed have it found a time ago.. Just try to compare it with the regular 12mpx, you will see that is worse, artifacts and noise will occur.. Try ultra cam based on burial with the proper magisk module it has a dedicated 48 mpx mod, I couldn't make it work because I'm in miui pie stock rom..

Where did you test this feature before?
I haven't found this until parrot uploaded the new beta 7.3 gcam.
Anyway if you increase no of hdr frames then noise may reduce but there is no option to select hdr frame.
But comparison to stock camera , it works much better and no root is required for this.
I will compare with regular 12mp .

To be honest, there are too many gcams out there and I test it a lot of them so can't really remember witch one was it. I remember to test a 48 mpx that would only ork in portrait mode.

Beside of trying a lot of gcams I always came back for the xcam 6. 1 (hypercam E3 Brazilian version) and the main reason is that gcam 7 sucks on front camera.

It's pittty cuz I was coming from oneplus and I miss to have a dedicated dev support on gcam for this device.

I saw 48MP mode but never clicked photos in 48MP.
Xcam 6.1 was best for me, it has many customisation but in android 10 not a single 6x series gcam work due to infinite hdr processing.
48MP potrait works better than stock , i tested many photos and gcam was the clear winner, if there was any option to choose hdr enhanced frames to 35 , image would produce much better. Unfortunately it is a beta app.

Set 48 mpx for main camera, then shoot on portrait. For me there is no big difference from 12 mpx just a larger photo if you wish too zoom or crop.. It's better if you try some xmls with it have fun..

Using E4 now, you can flip selfies ?
Is there a xda thread on this?

I am using it on syberia ROM.

Why would I ever want to use meme ui camera if I have GCam ? I only use the included meme ui cam for slow mo videos because GCam does not support it right now. Everything else is superior on GCam
Well, for a quick photo i always rely on stock camera. Where i don't need a quality shot but a quick one.
Anyway the issue is there, for someone who's concern about stock camera performance, may need this info. ✌️

Made some progress with AUX now all 3 lens are supported, 60 fps video recording modes now work, 30 fps works fine just a bit laggy in Viewfinder (EIS might work I am not sure since I don't own the device). To switch to wide lens just press the camera switch button (the same button you use to switch to front camera) twice (once for selfie cam and once to get to ultra wide). Link in 1st post

    Hi guys,

I followed above mentioned video to adjust setting of the gcam. Settings are good, but i wasnt happy with overall result as it seems there was a little bit noise on pictures taken indoor and contrast was high, especially on photos with human faces on it.

So I adjusted mentioned settings a little bit, and results now are slightly better. At least from my point of view :)

I'll post my config here, you are free to test it and more than welcome for any suggestion or change of settings.

    Gcam used is 7.2 Urnyx05 v1.8

Pixel AWB in HDR+ Enhanced is set on IMX586 for low light/indoor photos, and set on Off for daylight/outdoor photos.

    Other settings:

    Tone curve: ibb.co/42BcJQN
    Wide lens: ibb.co/n8HJzTS
    Telephoto lens: ibb.co/5TJmxmT
    Back camera: ibb.co/ssDtgbz
