[PORT][ROM][G900V][VZW]PhoeniX ROM V15.0 MM 6.0.1[Aroma Installer Dev Bootloader]

I didn't see a way to search this thread for something I'm sure has been asked before. Please excuse me if it has.

I'm ON an Aosp MM build now and wouldn't mind trying this rom with its updates. I saw the firmware needed to flash or bootloader. I'm not sure which bootloader I have but baseband says bok3 I believe. Since my bootloader is unlocked can I simply flash this and if I'm unhappy to back to Aosp again? Do I need to install something else before hand?

Just wondering.

Thanks for your patience. I just don't keep up with these things like I used to.

I bought this used back in June when my s3 kicked the bucket only because I researched in store and learned that I could unlock the bootloader and root easily. Thanks again

Edit found the answer on the second page. Sorry. Now off to find the necessary bootloader and whatnot. But by firmware you mean install a vzw stock mm rom and bootloader? This won't screw up my unlocked loader correct?

Thanks again

In Phoenix Rom Control do you have General Mods> TouchWiz Launcher> Launcher Rotation enabled? I don't think that does anything. You need Phoenix Rom Control Pro. Then you have this option Allow 360 Rotation. Is that what you were describing when you said extended RC Pro features?

Correct. I purchased the PhoenixROM Control Pro from the Playstore. And have 360 enabled. It also has continuous scrolling in the ROM Control but no dice on that either. Kinda odd.....lol

My apologies Again I've read about the needed bootloader and maybe firmware that are needed to flash this.

My problem is that I bought the phone in June 16 because development was still strong and I got a good deal on a phone used very little and never modded the first thing I did was unlock the bootloader to install aosp Roms and I've had no issues doing this with kernels and such. In fact I'm on RR MM now but if seems that going back to TW is more complicated. Could anyone provide me a link to install the correct bootloader for this rom.

If I do install this with the update to 12 will I be able to go able to aosp without issues? If it messes that up then I'll just deal with aosp but I know that some TW Roms for my old s3 were rather nice and that's why I want to try this. I know this is a newb question but again I unlocked and installed aosp the first night after my purchase.

Thanks for any direction provide no matter how little or sxarastic.

Thanks and thanks to the devs and community. I'd try 14 but after reading 12 seems more stable atm just as aosp N isn't as refined as mm

Well I've read up on bootloader firmwares and modems. And looked through Jrkruse.'s file collection . My understanding is that I can simply flash a the correct bootloader and about an 80 mb firmware w,/o a bootloader included to flash this rom am I correct? And do I have to install a full fleged 1.7odd GB firmware. Is Phoenix 14 better than this one other than being up to date? From the little bit I've read it's still in development and getting the kinks worked out.

I just don't want to lose my unlocked bootloader and be able to go back to aosp if I need to fairly easily. Sorry for bugging you guys.

Any info would be appreciated. I have only tried the stock rom for about 7 hours after I bought it then unlocked the BL and installed aosp. I'm on bok3 I believe it is.

You can only use the device bootloader unlock if you have a CID15. If your on 11, Jkruses stock 6.0 without root is all that's possible.

I just did went to the 6.0 stock ROM and then about hardbricked my phone restoring. Had to use a debrick image form the hardbrick thread which saved me, loaded PB1 image and then rerooted.

I'm happy to be back to 5.0 rooted!

If you have CID 15 then perfect! Go have a read on the unlocking bootloader thread and read it entirely. After complete you should be able to install this ROM and many other ROMS for the DEV aboot including CM.

Good Luck!

Help!

ok so, Ive been trying to install this rom since yesterday and ive had no success..
jrkruse's original post states that my g900v should have pd1 and twrp. Here's my problem i just flashed the stock pd1 ( 6.0.1) version but its not rooted.
In order to get it rooted i have to go back to pb1 and in order to get twrp or any custom recovery i have to be rooted thus on pb1 and not pd1.
so, my question is: How can i be on pd1, have root access and twrp or philz or any recovery that works with this ROM?? Or, how can i get from stock pd1 to installing this ROM?

Im terribly sorry if this has been answered but im in desperate help..

P.S. when the phone boots i get the unlocked lock thingy that says 'custom' so i dont know if that remained there from previous installations or something else..
Thanks in advance

This ROM is for folks with the DEV edition or have CID15 and have unlocked there bootloaders to allow them to run TWRP. I am on CID11, hence cannot use this ROM, as I can only run safestap becuse my bootloader is locked. With a locked bootloader you cannot use TWRP.

What is your CID? Have you ever had TWRP? If no, you cannot use this rom. Sorry.

I had loaded Jkruses version of stock MM PD1, and yes it was not rooted. It required flashing the N12 kernal via odin to access safestrap.

Rooting a MM rom currently isnt possible, to obtain root you need to flash Jkruses PB1 firmware and then follow the 5.0 root thread. However, if you are on a true stock 6.0 MM with the PD1 bootloader I dont know if you can go back now... Be very CAREFUL and read up and know exactly what you have before flashing.

Hope this helps!

My CID starts with 15 and yes, I have used TWRP before lolz.
So, i did this: I followed jrkruse's rooting guide for like the 20th time and then i followed this https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...t/rd-unlocking-galaxys-s5-bootloader-t3337909
and unlocked the bootloader ( also checked, it is in fact unlocked). also flashed TWRP. Do I have to update anything that is mentioned in the thread so i can install the rom?? And can i flash those international patches after the phoenix ROM??

Just unlock your bootloader, install the PD1 DEODEXED ROM, or a newer one that may be posted, that's in the unlock thread. Once done, install this PhoenixROM v12

you mean this SafeStrap_PD1_Bootloader_Unlock_AIO.zip and then the phoenix??
Once unlocked, i flashed the PD1 DEODEXED ROM but they've updated the OP with the latest OS with the PJ1 DEODEXED ROM here....https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862688467
So flash this in TWRP and then flash this PhoenixROM v12 and you should be good to go
Basically, as long as you're on any version of MM, you can install this ROM
