Hello mates,

Today I am back with the new Port Tool , which will help you to port android roms more smoothly and fastly to your device . It will work on all linux like operating system and windows + cygwin too .

It is using some general set of rules of porting and I don't know actually the percentage of success .

>>> Read My Blog <<<

Link removed -reason : unstable version . I will give you a higher version later

F.A.Q.

=================

1 . How to install Port Tool ?

ON LINUX

============

* Download Port Tool and extract it .

* Open extracted folder and right click on menu

* Choose run as administractor

* Give password if prompted .

* Done !

ON WINDOWS + CYGWIN

============

* Install sun java jre ( latest version is recomended)

* Install and setup cygwin

* Open cygwin and type

* Then type

* Done !

2 . How to port / use Port Tool ?

* Open port tool by using the above method .
* put base.zip & port.zip in input folder

base : a rom created for your device
port : a rom, which you want to port
* Choose port from main menu of port tool .
* It will automatically port your ROM and ask some simple questions like do you wanna sign the ported rom? etcetera .
* Flash signed_ported.zip from output .
* Done !

3 . How it works ?

It uses and works with some pre written code and commands of general porting .

I used my own guide of porting to do this . If you're interested in any other porting guides ,let me know I will include include it for you .

4 . What if I got a bootloop ?

Take a logcat and ask it here or any other named developers for help .

5 . What if I succesfully ported a rom ?

You have luck and give a credit and link back for/to Port Tool inorder to spread it .

6 . Hey I have some suggestions ...

Feel free to tell me . That little suggestions can make it bigger .

Reach me @hangouts [email protected]
Just try it! Hope is the key of success :thumbup:
There is a high chance of getting a ported ROM , if two devices have same configurations .

Is it work
It worked for me well,
this is just a working model of my port guide ( a compination of 3 others and my observations too )
something I noticed while porting different roms follows,
1 . Showing some errors like file doesn't exist on some roms (not a problem actually , but I just forgot to skip them )
2 . Some problems with updater-script (partition info )
EVERYTHING IS FIXED RIGHT NOW , and added more well known guides

This tool is at its initial state and i will update when i get some time (too busy with exams)
TRUST THIS TOOL LIKE A PORT GUIDE , NOTHING MORE THAN IT NOTHING LESS THAN IT !

@Asenk Komputer , sorry for the late answer . How ever I can not see that problem you described above . It does not containig any images . So please check you downloaded the same zip file .
@SH1M4BD3 ,
A JOKE ? What do you actually mean by a joke . Does not it worked for you ? My days of hard work is in those files in the form of text files . I have done more things on the future version . Anyway there is always a problem with port tools . Because they are working on standard porting rules and no a successful ported rom is offered . Mainly it is introduced to save time . A hand work of the dev is always needed . There might be a lnt of problems like currepted zip , errors on script , kernel etc. So don't dare to comment negatively without enough observations .
Sorry if my words are little rude ,
regards,
AlfasMP

Hi, thanks for this tool! I do a port of this rom (fiui.org) from Nexus 4 to Galaxy Nexus. The rom boot but Camera doesn't work, even with Camera taken from base rom, and Gapps package don't work, i get Google Play Services error. Are there any changes to do? Maybe copy some files from base to output rom.
Thanks

Good to hear a cool response , may be you can give 5 stars on the pol .

Also , you can copy camera libs from the lib folder of your base . Play services can be download from internet . I hope that should work . If it is not working then write a thread about your issue with a logcat on xda .
