1st time i flash this rom, i have a problem after i set everything connect to my wifi, log in my gmail and samsung account, and after click the finish its says "Android updating" it keeps loading, can someone help me?

Hi guys, this is Jay chiming in from India. I was on Note 4 until last year, I had to root that phone be cause Samsung ditched it way too early.. Then I had been using my Note 8 for 13 months now. I'm never that guy who roots the phone always and still I make blunders while doing it. I actually rooted my Note 8 unknowingly following some steps to install dual speaker mod, then I went to bootloop. Then I had to use Odin to come to stock, and only then I realized the permanent loss of Samsung Pass and Knox etc. It was painful, then I got over it. So I decided to go behind the dual speaker mod one more time, I still don't remember how I got to this thread. I had already lost all my data of my past year and I was screwed up. I decided to install this ROM and give a try. Now it's been a week.

I'm super super happy. The second speaker isn't loud enough but the bottom speaker has improved big time with Dolby Atmos. The performance is on point (I don't play games). The camera is almost the same (Im already a google cam guy for still photography).

And.. my biggest happiness is battery life. Here in India, the LTE networks drain lots of battery and nobody here can finish a day with single charge. The best screen time I used to get before rooting was around 4 to 4.30hrs in a 13hr standby. (LTE data ON, outdoors, 1080p res, no AOD, dark theme). Now I'm super amazed to see 5.30 hrs of Sot over a 20hr standby. It's really been a world of difference to me. I don't know what magic @Repulsa has done but I'm super happy about it. No other ROM will give this backup with Mobile data always on use. And I'm not a guy who plays with flashing new stuff time to time changing evrything, backing up data then restoring etc.

I'm writinh this long post to recommend this ROM to people who are looking for a very stable ROM with some extras and excellent battery life. This ROM has made this ROM very very practical.

Note: I thought my carrier (Reliance Jio) wasn't supported, but a few reboots intiailly solved it. The iris was dead slow initially, now its fast enough ?. Intelligent scan doesn't work, but it's nitpicking. And having 60fps video in stock camera is so convenient.


Repulsa, no need to update this ROM soon enough unless something major comes up. I don't want current mix of performance/battery/experience to be affected even a bit. I think the only time you will need to give us an update will be maybe for intelligent scan (not an emergency though), the stock camera which has 60fps4k/super slomo/ selfiefocus all together and most importantly when Samsung releases it's ONE UI.

This ROM is for every person out there who is not greedy on features instead of stability and practical experience.

Alternatively active SYNC options. Reason for the error is your missing contact details from the SIM. You can also remove the SIM and move on with the setup, sync your accounts, and insert SIM card again.

Really lovinbg the rom its my first time flashing a rom its been about 2 weeks now and so far so good but ive noticed i hardly ever get nitificatons from apps? sometimes my email app will go off and send me about 2 days of emails outta no where. couple other apps do the same, even facebook messenger i wont get notifocations much until i open that app but it does work half the time, SM-N950F

is there a way to get the s pen notes working when the phone is locked?

For me it is working. I installed Samsung Notes, not S-Note. Under options/advance options/s-pen is the setting for screen off memo.
