1/ Call your Phone Carrier or look around on the internet and ask for the "SMSC Number".
If you're on AT&T or US T-Mobile, here are the codes
AT&T: +13123149810 (Actual Number) = 0713121139418f0 (PDU format - You need this)
T-Mobile: +12063130004 (Actual Number) = 07912160130300f4 (PDU format - You need this)

2/ Follow the Instruction from here
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/SMSC_Updates

Notice the numbers include the +, this matters for the next steps

Converting to PDU format
1.Take your number, including the + and go to http://www.twit88.com/home/utility/sms-pdu-encode-decode
2.Towards the bottom of the page, there is a spot to enter SMSC, Receiver and Message 1.Enter your full SMSC number (including the +)
2.Leave Receiver and message box blank
3.Select Alphabet 7
4.Hit Convert

3.You will get an output in the box on the right side
4.Take the first 16 digits from the second line (examples for above carriers listed)
Sprint: +17044100000 = 07917140140000F0
Verizon: +316540951000 = 0791135604590100
AT&T: +13123149810 = 0713121139418f0
T-Mobile: +12063130004 = 07912160130300f4

Your SMSC number is now in PDU format, now to update your phone:
1.Open Dialer
2.Type the following sequence '*#*#4636#*#*'
3.Open Phone Information
4.Scroll down to SMSC 1.Optional: Hit Refresh to see current SMSC number used

5.Enter in your PDU formatted SMSC number
6.Press Update
SMSC number (+.......) to PDU format Conversion Web if you can't access from the above link http://www.twit88.com/home/utility/s...-encode-decode

Hope this helps

UPDATE
If you get UPDATE ERROR, under *#*#4636#*#*, you can try this (has been confirmed to work with AT&T)
+ Install GOSMS from Market
+ Go to Settings -> Advanced -> Send Settings -> Enable customized SMSC -> Enter SMSC number obtained from Phone Carrier (REAL NUMBER NOT the PDU

The only reason I could think T-Mobile doesn't work is because they use the aws spectrum which the rezound doesnt have.

I was messing around and screwed up my SMS too. try this number 07913121139418f0 I actually did the online PDU thing and discovered that 07913121139418F0 was missing from their documentations.... makes a big difference... after you input that number and click update it'll work... well it did for me

Thanks for posting this. I was messing around with my settings about 3 months ago and after that couldn't send any sms, ony mms. I tried this fix and it worked after a reboot and re-enabling data. Also, from the time my sms went out Speedtest.net app wasn't working either and now it is. I'm on StraightTalk over AT&T network and smsc code 07913121139418f0 works!

Thanks again!

I am having similar issues with a T-Mobile branded LG G2 (D801) and an AT&T sim card. I cannot send any sms messages. The really strange thing about it is, that it worked before I traveled to Europe for two weeks at the end of December. Since I got back to the US, no more text messages (I can only receive them). Very frustrating.
I tried updating the SMSC number, but I get an update error when trying to set the PDU number. I can set a regular number but it won't help. When I click "Refresh" the value in the box is "+13123149810",145
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

1.) SMS with GSM networks not only depends on rom for example you may have issues on KitKat but with Wrong APN or radio setting in the *#*#4636#*#* menu. On both a tmobile and att based card i had no issues sending sms or mms on 4.0 to 4.3 roms. 2.) this problably wont work on other devices like the nexus as it uses different hardware and bands than the rezound itself...speaking of bands on the rezound they are locked by defaultbut nv and qcn editing can change that. Also especially for att this problably wont work until the nv edits and qcn is changed.
