I just bought this phone (it came with marshmallow preloaded) and the battery really seems to be drained a lot by the GPS. It's on all the time and I don't know why. I turned it off for the moment but this is kind of annoying :/

I really wanted to go for the G4 but the battery seems really bad. I used to get 6.5 hrs screen time on my Xperia Z3 without even trying! With medium to heavy gaming and all...

Sold my Z3 yesterday, looking for a new device. G4 ticks all the boxes except for battery life.

Screen, Camera, Software (ish), Battery life.
If you want that much battery life you shouldnt even think about buying a phone from 2015 or 2016. Their processors are too powerful and need too much battery compared to phones from previous years. Nevertheless G4 isn't that bad compared to S6 or any other flagship from 2015. Phones from 2016 are a bit better but are much more expensive of course

Well,first of all,I'm on custom rom-Beanstalk.
Second,I'm using Greenify for Facebook,Viber,Messinger etc...
Also,my sync,Gps,Bluetooth are Off and I'm on 2G because I use only Wifi.
But the most important (I think) is that I lowered resolution to 1080x1920 and I'm using tweaks for Interactive governor, thanks to @matnin ,from here:

I believe lowering the display resolution is the main reason for the improved battery life. I am going to try it but I m on stock ROM.
How I wish LG used FHD originally on the G4. Many people appreciate the QHD but I am one of the few that avoid phones with it since I consider it a disadvantage in a phone due to the impact on battery.

I thought doze is a mm feature... For me lp is not as smothe as mm is. Especially if ypu close a app by side wish(?) it lags for a second. This isn't in mm. Batterylife with bal e or f is close to lp.

Thats bull man.
S7 edge has great battery life. I own s7 edge and Note 5. Im so disappointed with Note 5. My S7 edge battery last about 3 times longer than in Note 5.

Recetly upgrade to MM
Everything is setup like lolipop(rooted) before and with debloated everything includes google play(that app s***s, always updating gp and gle services)

Brightness 14%,disabled everything in google services, just storage and location enable, gps set to battery saving

After 4th cycle of battery usage, it seems improved/better than lolipop

4.5 hours after I changed a new battery after almost a year. Normally, I got around 3.5 SOT (apply some mods), after the replacement, I got one more hour SOT. :D:D

I did not use the software to measure, just my normal use (web surfing, chat, youtube). The total online time is around 24 hours.

5 hours 51 mins eh. That's impressive.. So you think google services are the culprit here??

There are two funny thing about my batteries (I got three of those). First, each battery when charged to a full 100%, gives a different SOT. I understand that it might happen sometime I use the phone more on one battery than when on the other.. But for this to happen everytime, I really can't understand that. Second, if I use the phone more after putting in a fresh battery, I get better SOT, compared to if I don't use the phone.. So if I start browsing on the phone once I out in a new battery, the overall SOT of the phone gets better. But if I don't use the phone after swapping in a fresh battery, the SOT sucks.. Any idea why this happens? Does this happen to anyone else?

I think yeah, been monitoring google play services since kitkat, some version are ok but some are not..i'm just using google play services that comes together with core system..Usually google play will updates the google services by itself if there's new updates than the google play itself. When in rooted lolipop there's some services that's i disabled as we are not using it for extend our SOT but updating it will enabled back all the services that i've been disabled..That's updates come from google play. So i just uninstalled back to factory version and disabled the google play. The down side is you cannot installed apps from google play store and some app will ask you to update google services when you're installing them.

I have 2 batteries and both SOT are not the same regarding how old and how many time its been recharged. The one year old battery that i have usually got around 4 and half hours SOT and the one i posted before is 6 month old battery. In MM doze will kicked if you're not using it not like lolipop..Maybe you have something running on the background that keep your battery draining.

44 hours since the last charge, with about 1.5 hours of screen on time. I am using stock everything (v20i), no root. I do not know exactly how I managed to make it sleep so well, but this is the third time it behaved like this. I think I started to manually set as Inactive all the apps I do not use on a daily basis. I did this until I saw that those apps remained inactive. This way I am getting a 50-80 mAh battery consumption when screen is off or when the phone is not used (like over the night).

Edit: I used to get 14-18 hours between 2 charges. This is a new record for me and I hope it lasts.

My H818P battery health is 73%

Would say this is really bad...

I also have the same "shrinked battery life! My phone is almost 2 years old! Do we think that fast charging or hot batteries during use had shrinked our batteries by 1000 mAH ? If my H818P had root i would definitely look for WakeLocks in BBS app to check out the heavy battery drain!

I am confident that the battery has lost from its power in one year of usage. How do I know this? I suffered the bootloop problem, and the image retention problem of the screen. So they replaced the phone all together. Including battery. I restored my backup and used the same Kdz. Now I have one extra hour SOT.

Noticed the same time after I swapped out my battery if the provided spare. It didn't help I was a part of the pokemon go craze and the heat it generated must have murdered the longetivity of the battery
