Post Nougat Update Issues, Battery icon Showing on AOD?

Hey guys

Just upgraded to Nougat today. Phone was 2 weeks old prior to update...
I couldnt really find any answers to these two issues I'm experiencing:

1. Always On Display: always shows the battery icon, even when not charging.

2. In messaging, when I hit a thread to open it... there is a 2 second delay.

Any ideas? Do I need to hard reset it?

The icon on the AOL might be a feature rather than a bug. No proof, just my thought on it
