I am using pixel 3 camera app in boht Pixel 2 XL and HTC U11 and camera of U11 provide more details in day lights photo and more lights indoor (in very low light condition without night sight) which is probably because of low aperture in U11. I did not expect U11 to be better than Pixel 2 XL ..I wanted to keep pixel 2 xl for software update but everything else seem better on U11 which is also much cheaper

Pixel 2 XL camera hardware is normal.

What make it good is the software, not the hardware.

I'm not surprised a bit that U11 can get better result using Gcam, heck my 150$ Xiaomi was just as good than the Pixel 2 XL if not better in most lighting condition. In low light with movement the pixel 2 is superior though. In low light without scene movement, it was equal

Gcam is a magical software!
