Hi all, this is actually my first post on this forum so don't shoot me dead yet - I already am happy to have found a relevant thread addressing my issue (using search!).

I installed stock 4.0.3 ics from OTA, and did a factory reset after the initial flash.

My Quadrant standard score is 1086, which seems very low.
In the system information section, it says my CPU speed is just 400MHz whereas 1GHz should be the maximum possible.

Are the 3000-6000+ scores only possible with root+custom rom e.g. CM?
Or is it too early to compare with ICS yet?

Thank you for your reply.

barendvl: Same here. Also pretty new at this.

Wiped everything, installed drewgaren ics 3.1 rom, wiped dalvik, installed matr1x 12.5 but had problems with video, wiped dalvik, installed glados2.2.

All three kernels have given me similar quadrant scores ranging about 1100-1400 which are much lower than the 2000'ish scores I was almost seeing with 2.3.6 and netarchy's kernel...

That said, the system is A WHOLE LOT faster and more responsive with both matr1x and glados... Feels like the quadrant score should be twice as high!

Any ideas why so low?

Benchmarks are just that. You can use them to see if tweaks make improvements or not. If the UI is smooth and it functions how you would expect then don't worry about benches.

But it is fun to see how far we can push these little devices.

LMFAO at those I/O hacks/"tweaks" to manipulate IO scores. When are you people going to learn?
Ill say it again, this time becasue it IC...IO is pointless and should be taken out of benchmark (And on others test) the SD card bench ....On a nexus s standpoint CPU and GPU ":hardware"is were you will see performance enhancements not filesystem....look at PCs. end user tweaking filesystem has no drastic nothing at least to the extent of what these quadrant graphs are showing they make it look faster than CPU lol
anyways quadrant is crap not becasue its like 3 -4 years old but becasue of the fact it can be manipulated...this was the case with GB result becasue everyone incorporated some sort of filesystem tweak (purposely and unwillingly)becasue they came with most custom kernels.
Also just because one score i higher doesn't mean you phone is faster...unless you OC CPU or GPU or have more RAM
and does have these higher io mean you phone is faster or quicker in anyway over stock LOL no

try using a real benchmark that has been updated and cant be manipulated

Anyways results with stock rom with glados [email protected] 1.2 after 3 runs no manipulation....note this is stock IO

y7es yes its fun to use quadrant but not a proper test and now acurate so why use it? lots of other one out there
