your phone needs to be rooted.. if it is, then get xposed framework and install Exthemer, gravitybox, GEL

Nova launcher has good features. I have used it enough.. I don't know what this "ram killer" is? Are you saying

1 it uses more ram
2 It kills processes in ram
3 Ram life spawn decreases
Or something else?

It doesn't do 2&3. Slightly more than stock launcher.

well considering we have 1gb ram. i dont see big deal about 50mb ram usage. if you feel its high. you can try different launchers. there are plenty and one or other with less ram usage will suit you i guess.
