"Power Widget" does have an option to make it transparent.
But the one I use is built in the Azure rom. I think it's standard for Android 2.2 Froyo.
Just rooted my HTC Legend so still working a lot of crap out like changing notification area and what not.
Middle (main screen)
Right (quick access to messages/calendar - scrollable).
Left (general/quick settings - mostly to make sure Tasker is doing it's job at the right times)

What is the widget called for those toggle things u guys have with the dot's instead of bars?

SwitchPro Widget, and then in the options, just select 'No Background'.
For myself I'd rather have my own shortcuts and have it customised the way I want.
