Powering off the XT926 reboots it

I cannot power off my phone. As soon it shuts down it boots again. Tried to search for an answer, but with no luck.
What might be an issue here?

System version: 9.20.1, Verizon
Android: 4.1.2
I am now rooted, but the problem was also with the factory wiped, not rooted phone.

If your connected to a lap top to charge then it will auto start. Are you plugged into the wall?

Oh, you're right. This only happens when charging (either from laptop or wall). Not sure how I haven't noticed this so far
