Maybe i'm not getting anything, but on the video the microUSB connector of the skin is on the side, like it is on 4g, but on our dhd we have a connection on the bottom..how it is gonna connect?

I'd like too see some reviews here too! So if someone got one of these could you please share your experiences? Getting more than 2 days without a charger with Desire HD would be awesome!

This think is a nice idea. But there are some problems with it. First of all, if it is charging the internal battery while the device is in use, the internal battery temp will raise significantly, this will lead to cpu temp raise. Secondly the phone will bulk up quite a bit. And all of this for maybe 960mah? Just buy an extra battery.

I bought one of these the day it was released, and have been disappointed so far.

Here are my cons and pro's

pros:

Battery life is extended 2.5x for me.
Solid construction, feels like it protects your phone well.

Cons:

Having the powerskin on makes my phone go in and out of service, and drops calls like crazy. Once I remove the phone from the powerskin, reception returns to normal. I have an RMA out on this, and am waiting for a replacement, so hopefully i just got a dud.

It also makes the phone quite thick. Doesn't really bother me, but most people I have showed it to don't like the size of it.

To summarize:

This unit provides excellent battery life, but for now, it comes with sacrificing the depth of the phone, and your call quality suffers. Currently I would not recommend getting this case, but when I get my replacement case, my view may change.

And to answer a previous question, the Micro USB port gets moved to the side because there is a little cable inside the powerskin that connects to the charging port on the bottom of the phone. It is actually a pretty slick system.

Shame about the radio signal.

What about GPS? The GPS antenna is around the flash, and signal is compromised by some cases, never mind battery packs like this.

I am glad i read up on this before the purchase as the power skin is one big con, phone appearing as if its charging all the time? (no thanks). i do not think i will be buying one, i was hoping that it would be transparent and the phone would phone the battery and the powerskin was 1

The internal battery is used first. Then when it gets to a critical level the powerskin kicks in. They don't keep cycling each other. Meaning the powerskin does not keep the internal battery "topped off", but is only triggered on at a certain level.
