I have a few questions about the HD that I'd like some current users to answer, if they would.

8gb vs 16gb? I'll be using a 16gb SD card, so is the internal storage boost relevant to anything?

I'll be rooting and running cm10 or 10.1 off the bat. I currently have a nook color that has seen cm7 and now cm10 and it feels like I'm trying to run windows 7 on a system that had windows 95 right before it. How much lag is there? I watched a YouTube video of someone with cm10 on their HD and the boot animation was painful to watch, seemed like it was gonna have a heart attack. I don't want anything that's gonna lag like this nook color does.

Is there an over clock kernel out or is the boot loader locked?

Probably not a lot of difference on EMMC size since you will be running CM10, and you'll have a big SD card for that. CM10 is great on the HD+ though there are still a couple of features to be finished. But there are no overclocked kernels out, that's going to take awhile since B&N only recently released source.

The bootloader is locked, so the only option now is booting off the SD.

People have complained about lag on the HD+ primarily I suspect because the graphics writes are so big. Personally it seems faster than my Galaxy Nexus overclocked!

After getting to the store and holding a HD and an HD+ in my hands I decided to go with the HD+. They say the HD is the same screen as the color but it felt smaller. Probably the smaller frame of the device. It just didn't do it for me. After rebuffing 3 sales people and giving each a hard look, I went with the HD+. Its not as large as I thought it would be which is a plus for me. 7 felt right 10 was too bulky. This is acceptable. Man is it lightyears beyond the color in performance too. This baby flies compared to that dinosaur. I didn't realize it would be 1500 MHz stock, no reason to overclock as far as I'm concerned. So far I'm ecstatic about it. Now if I can find a slip on case I'll be good.

Figured I would use the same thread as seeing how it pretains to the same thing expect will be upgrading from a Nook Tablet and wondering if others have done the same and if it is worth the upgrade over the older device.

I went nook color to nook HD+ and the difference is night and day. I believe the specs on the tablet were a smidge better than the color right? I bought the color because there didnt seem to be any development on the tablet at the time and I had to have a fully operational tablet. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you're going to run cm10 off sdcard.

If I do deicde to upgrade it will more then likely be the Hook HD+ that I upgrade to as the 8.9" screen is inticing since the 7inch screen of the nook tablet os a little to small for me
