Would I be able to flash this on my US based SGP511? I had a backup of the original firmware but it seems to have gotten corrupted somehow and I cannot use it to restore my tablet back to stock.

Thanks.

Yes you would. Since SGP511 connect only by wifi there shouldn't be any problems.

Hi

Here is flasable zip file wich install latest ROM 23.0.1.A.4.30 which this time is customized UK, latest stable SuperSu v2.37 and latest beta Dualrecovery .154 for Tablet Z2 with read/write acces to system.
This is tested and works just fine though make nandroid backup before flashing.
Install it by flashing whole zip file with custom recovery. Wipes aren´t necessary but good practise.

Hello,
I have rooted Tablet Z2 Wifi SGP512 4.4.2 (build 17.1.2.A.0.314), and now wish to upgrade / flash with dual recovery this latest Android version. Sadly the mega file link stops at around 60% with an error, and it just won't fully download. It's been doing this for a couple of days. IS THERE ANOTHER LINK PLEASE?
Does it not matter that the CDA number of this newer firmware does not match the current older firmware (1281-8158? / 1281-9080)?
If I decide to revert to NON rooted latest UK firmware, can I just flash the ftf over this rooted firmware without any issues? (I have an FTF got from XperiFirm)

Here you go. This is mirror link for you:
Just tested mega link though and it work fine here.
You have SGP512 and this is SGP511. This work just fine with your device because only difference is memory size. However only downside is that it says it is SGP511 but if that bother you you can edit build.prop file and correct it for your device.
It is ok to flash nonrooted ftf above this and I never have had any problems with that. But as always clean install is good practice.

Thank you
However I have managed to create my own zip with PRFCreator, and I've flashed the Tab and somethings wrong. I've got half a root, AdAway wont install host files, and busy box wont install. Think I'll flash back to 4.4.2 Nordic ftf and try again maybe......

Sounds like you don't have system write access. For that you need to disable Sony ric. XZDualrecovery supposed to do it for you but only if your new romversion are mentioned in installdisableric.sh file in tmp folder of XZDualrecovery zip file.

Thanks for the info. Think I'll give that RIC killer a go......
Worked! AdAway and BusyBox both work correctly now

Can you recommend an app that boots into TWRP without fail?
I've tried "Recovery Reboot" and "Quick Boot (Reboot)" and they both seem inconsistent

Just found out though that PS4 Remote play does not work with rooted devices (error 88001003), I'll look for a fix, do you know if there is one?

Sure. NDRUtils from PlayStore. Not familiar with PS 4 so don't know but I suppose you can try root hiding tool like RootCloak which is xposed module.

Great just what I was after, but unfortunately is doesn't seem to work for me :(
SGP511 Build 17.1.1.A.0.402. Rooted and unlocked. Root apps all seem to be working fine.
I booted into CWM V6.0.4.6, flashed the zip from the /sdcard and it says Install from SD card complete.
Rebooted and check system info and still on 17.1.1.A.0.402.
Tried again and this time cleared Dalvik cache and cache and sill the same.
Have I missed something?
