Summing up my issue: I dirty flashed this @Bird40 ROM on top of the previous Lollipop ROM (the one with dual recovery).
ROM works fine but I lost the recovery while I guess a TWRP 3.x recovery was supposed to replace the dual recovery. I understand the @landrino46 experienced this issue too (I give him a wrong reply because I did not flash this ROM yet and I did not understand the issue).
Any clue on how to flash a working recovery from a working rooted ROM? And where I download the right recovery?

Thank you for your help.

Remove any other busybox you might have and download RecRoot v3 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=65856403
Run install.bat via Pc.

It worked flawlessly, thank you, you saved my day!!!
I also find out that apps designed to reboot the device in recovery mode do not work anymore with this ROM but it's not a big deal.
So maybe I always had a working recovery but I just was unable to start it? I guess not, since TWRP manager detected version 2.7.x before your suggested fix while now it shows version 3.0.2

Recovery also broken

I also have no recovery. Tried flashing duallocked recovery with rashr but still nothing.
I have adopted sdcard as storage so maybe this is the issue.

If anyone finds a working recovery for locked bootloader please let me know

Cool, RecRoot is working with the Z2 Tablet? Good to hear... So it is absolutely possible to create a flashable pre-rooted ROM...

I think your Recovery was not working any longer. NUTs DualRecovery does absolutely not work with MM and TWRP is working with MM since V 3.0.2 and afaik with some modifications. The modified one is included in RecRoot.

RecRoot seems to require unlocked bootloader though.

So anyone with locked bootloader cannot use old TWRP from NUT as it doesn't work with MM, and cannot install TWRP >3 as it doesn't work with locked bootloader on z2 tablet?

Please disregard post above, RecRoot works fine with this and Locked Bootloader.

Hi,

This has nothing to do with the provided ROM itself, but maybe you can help me out - since you're provinding a running ROM here:

I'm trying to create a DE customized MM prerooted ROM for the SGP521.
Unfortunately all of my tries ended up in a bootloop - but not in a bootloop like: Sony-Logo -> Reboot -> Sony Logo->... but more in: System starting without any problem -> basic setup starting -> klicking the "accept terms"-flag -> reboot...

Can you tell me how you got the ROM working or tell me what the heck I'm doing wrong? Here is what I did:

- I DL'ed the ROM via flashtool/xperifirm
- then I deleted the fwinfo.xml from the extracted FW files folder
- then I created the ftf via flashtool
- then I used the PRFcreator to create a .zip (ftf in FW field, dummy_flashable.zip in SuperSU-field, recrootv4_combined in recovery field, all upper flags selected (kernel etc. included), sign zip and legacy mode untecked)
- flashed the zip via twrp

I'm willing to provide you here with a DE customized FW but it has to work first before I do so...

Thanks and cheers

<Irony mode on> Wow, what a reply... :good:

Just to make it clear even to you: I asked this here due to the reason that we have here a WORKING, PREROOTED, RECOVERY - MM-ROM explicitely for the SGP521. And I just wanted to know how Bird40 made it working because I do not get mine (DE-customized) to work, even with reading in tons of threads and postings like for PRFCreator and RecRoot!

It may be unbelievable for you, but I read all of them. I did all the things explained there. But that bloody ROM I created won't work on my Z2 tab. So it was clear to me to ask somebody who got this working. In a thread about the working ROM. Do you see now why I was asking here?

And another point just to make it even more clear to you: Because of I thaught that somebody like you will troll me in a thread that has nothing to do with a SGP521-specific ROM problem. And now the opposite happened. Trolling where I thought I'm right... Well, s..t happens.

Upon your friendly advice I now created a seperate thread for my question.</Irony mode off>

Sorry for disturbing here. Please back to topic.

The thread already states that you need a rooted device for using RecRoot. And our problem is "how to root in the first place, if we are on locked bootloader without any recovery". Care to explain or redirect us to a link?

P.S. Please dont redirect to a link which gives me a pre-rooted firmware, because for that we either need a recovery, or a rooted SGP521 or an unlocked bootloader and we have none. We are on locked bootloader 6.0.1 (23.5.A.0.575).

Use fastboot to do a rollback to 5.1, do the root.
And then install recovery.
After that it's just to flash 6.0.1 ftf and recrootv4.

Thanks for the solution. but I guess upon rollbacking, I might lose network(IMEI becomes "0"). So will again coming back to 6.0.1 but this time via recovery installed while on 5.1, would fix my IMEI(if it become zero at all) ?

I lost root with my first 6.0.1 flash.
I used fastboot to download 5.1 (same version ru/au/kz), Flashed that and rooted.
I don't know I I was lucky, but imei was kept intact.
