Problems rooting Droid1

I updated my Droid with the recent OTA security update and it removed root.

I am trying to get it back with SuperOneClick 2.3.1.0 and it freezes on
"Rooting Device" step 3

I tried using Petes Motorola root but it never completes either.

Advice please
