Yeah, realize it's impossible to send commands before you're able to connect via debuggingI've refined the instructions to make it easier and hopefully fix your issues. Unfortunately there's no way I can make USB debugging be enabled from the program as I have to have that enabled to send commands to the phone. Also, if you could tell me what error you got that would be great and I'll try to implement a progress bar at somepoint.
I agree with the instructions. It's just been about a week since I did it and forgot a few of the minor steps so I'm glad you posted it. And I honestly can't think of a way to enable debugging mode without user interaction. If that error comes up again let me know and I'll try to correct it.Yeah, realize it's impossible to send commands before you're able to connect via debugging
Wish I could remember the error wording verbatim. Seems like it indicated the file was bad. Since then, though, I haven't had any problems.
Don't mean to be nit-picky re. the instructions. Just thought it might make it a little easier for those who are not that familiar with installing ROMs.
Thanks again for your work.
That would be awesomeWould anyone be interested in me creating a linux/Mac version of this?
Does anyone know if this works on 1010 and later models? I know the odin 1-click would cause problems on these phones. I think it had to do with them coming preinstalled with jh7
I've heard that the one click ODIN will cause problems for newer versions. In my experience, I have a model 1012 and oneclick worked perfect for me but who knows. And this program uses the OneClick Odin version (for now, I'm hoping to update this to have a few different Odin versions) so if that doesn't work on your phone don't use that part of the program as it's based off of the one click ODIN.Yes, I've never flashed back to stock because I have version 1012 and dont have an unbrick dongle yet. I'm assuming this will still brick newer versions since it runs existing utilities that have not been changed. right or wrong?
For my program to work: after installing the drivers you need to continue to step 2 and select the ROM you want to install (my program needs this done at this step to be ready for the later steps). If you are already on the stock firmware (Android 2.1) then you can skip step 3 but it should not hurt your phone to do it. For Titanium Backup, do that before even starting up this program (or just before starting the steps). Check here for using Titanium Backup and when to use it.Wow looks like a great tool.
I just flashed my first ROM so I'm no expert but was wondering if the step after installing the drivers should be to root the phone then the next step install Titanium Backup and backup user apps and data.
I see your point. I just thought it would be nice to use your app to root the phone and then install TiBu that way everything required by a noob would be in one D/L.For my program to work: after installing the drivers you need to continue to step 2 and select the ROM you want to install (my program needs this done at this step to be ready for the later steps). It's kind of difficult to include those instructions also as it is already quite long. I've added a comment above the download link discussing using Titanium Backup with this program. Basically, use this programs step 4 to root your device then install and use Titanium backup then start from the top of my program and continue until the end.I see your point. Nice work!
I see where you are coming from dg but there is a lot of hair splitting in the DEV forum in regards to threads and categories. I've had this happen to me myself. The i9000 Boot Screen text thread that was a mixture of confusing info is STILL floating around in the DEV section but as soon as I actually DEVELOPED a batch script and some automation with a video on how to do it, it got canned over to the General section. It can be confusing sometimes so don't be to hard on him...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943496
I guess you cannot take a hint or read?
Programs* goes in the Themes and Apps section.
*program, app, application, windows, android, mac, linux... an app is an app... this has NOTHING to do with development.
Can you let me know what partof the rooting didn't work?Everything except for the root worked for me, thankfully rooting is the easiest step so no big deal. Thank you for this awesome program!
If you'd like to mirror it on the teamkomin site that'd be great. Just send me the link to the mirror in a PM (I'd prefer not to have it posted in the thread as I'd rather have all download links in the original post for easier access) and I'll put it in the original post.Hey bay_wolf I can throw this up on the teamkomin site if you need anymore mirrors.
This is a great tool! Tell everyone who has problems installing stuff to just this.
Good work.
