Hello everybody,
I have an android box A95X F3 Air Amlogic S905x3 4GB/64GB Android 9.0.
I installed the ROM https://slimboxtv.ru/a95x-f3-air-slim/ and everything worked correctly. The ROM is amazing. The box became much faster and fluid.
I just have one problem. I installed this ROM to be able to use the MEO app (which is on the playstore).
When I try to run the app I get the error:
"Android TV device not certified. To use the MEO application you must use a device certified for Android TV. Look for this symbol to confirm certification -> Powered By androidtv"

Does anyone know a way to overcome this problem and be able to use the MEO app?

I have a "Xiaomi MI BOX S Android TV" and the MEO app works great.

Thanks in advance

Try Aidan's ROM. It's certified.
I already tried with Aidan's ROM. In this ROM the box is always in BOOT. I chose the correct version, but Aidan's ROM does not work on the A95X F3 Air Amlogic S905x3.
Can you help me certify the box?

I think it is possible using this utility, but the folder is empty:

Android 9.0 is the last upgrade that will see on this device, Amlogic has dropped support for S905W chipset while ago.

something like this...

i mean that old android smart phone never get update officialy thats why aosp lineage os avilable..i mean unofficially

...old android smart phone never get update officialy thats why aosp lineage os avilable..i mean unofficially
Phones are sold in an larger quantities and are more spread than TV boxes, i.e. greater possibilities of (unofficial) support.
The S905W is a relatively old chipset and underpowered, compared to the newer S905X2 (G12) and S905Y2 (SM1) SoC's, i dont expect any more support in the future.

2. Copied flash drive.
3. Rebooted to the stock recovery with Slimbox extended reboot.
4. Selected " Apply update from EXT "
5. Update from udisk
6. Selected "TWRP_AML_SlimHouse_3.5.2.zip"

Screen shows TWRP Spalsh screen and locks on it.

Power off/on reboots to stock recovery.

Try slimhouse twrp again.
Keep in mind it is temporary twrp for slim firmware only.
Should start in Russian
Then you change language

For backup maybe try Titanium
Or I see Alpha Backup on slim site.

May test Alpha myself

Yes I'm using slim firmware and slimhouse twrp.
Slimhouse TWRP is what's getting stuck.
I need to load it from a usb drive because the sdcard is being used as adoptable system memory.
I don't want to install twrp permanently as that will prevent patches from the slimbox system settings.
Alpha works but can be quirky.

Here is method of madness I use

First enable root

Place temporary twrp on 32 gig usb drive
From slim settings
Installing patch
Select twrp
Will install from there
Or take you to recovery

From there
Apply from ext
Select udisk
Install
Change language (if required)
Create backup

By default will go to internal
I use Select storage
Move to otg udisk(same usb temporary twrp is on)

Create backup
Reboot
Remove usb and keep in safe place

There are other methods with terminal/adb
I prefer slow manual method

Good luck

Happy Testing

@awibabau - that´s great, i could connect my HK1 to my Windows laptop with scrcpy, i did not know this yet.
    Thanks again for this help.

Even so, i don´t know what do exactly now to get my HDMI working, tried to change something in display settings, but without result. After get the scrcpy Image on my Laptop, i diconnected the AV cable and put in the HDMI cable and also restarted, the image on laptop works fine, but no HDMI image on TV.

I defined also in the connection settings a fix IP for the HK1, because yesterday night was ...104 and today ....103 and i could not connect. So i fixed it to 104 and i hope it works always.

By the way, i was wrong, i did not have installed the original firmware, i have installed the ugsbx_vontar_x3_aosp_053_1 which works fine for me.

One advantage i have now, i can try to reboot to recovery with a stick in AV Port which is free now, but get no adavantage, because in recovery i cannot activate HDMI

I tried also earlier already to make a backup on my second HK1 (which is with the actual slimbox version) and restore it with TWRO on a USB stick on my fault HK1. The restore process worked fine, but HDMI had no image.

Have you tried the youtube video method i've posted, sometimes disconnect everything and reset TV through tv button for 20 seconds and connect everything at the same time might do the trick.

Make sure your HDMI cables are 2.0 at least, if they are standard (aka 1.4) chances are the android boxes are defaulting to 2.0.

Also, now that you use scrcpy try changing resolution from best to every other and wait some time with the tv ON to see if something happens...

PS: Search youtube for solution on HDMI ports no signal, sometimes it's an easy fix.

I want to reboot to the sd card (to Coreelec). Slimbox probably makes it possible
    🖥️
install Terminal Emulator app and execute command reboot update...

I would prefer to use the original remote without the CEC.
    ⌨️
Convert/edit remote.conf file to remote.tab file and copy to vendor/etc folder.

I see that the last few X4 roms will dirty flash but get stuck on logo screen on boot - well at least for me with the Vontar X4 one on my HK1 X4s from 16.5 onwards. Good in many ways as should always clean flash - pain in others as have to set it up again every time. . Latest now 16.7 - updates coming very quickly which is great. If it wasnt mainly for Slimbox roms the X4 wouldnt be a lot of fun on its stock rom. Can only give a big thanks to the developer for his work.

Can anyone tell me how can I further customize SLim box roms? I want to unbrand it. remove boot logo, remove slim box logo from About Phone Menu. I also want to enable navigation bar permanently.

I am using rom on Radxa Zero 4G.

    Thanks in advance
I am using slim box tv rom for X96 (PIE)

You need to use android kitchen and read a lot...

Any instructions on how you dirty flash? Do you need TWRP?
Use USB burning tool on PC - load image - untick erase flash. Hit start - hold down reset button on box with toothpick or opened paper clip- connect to box using dual USB cable to (USB 2 port on HK1 X4) - count to 10 release reset. A dirty flash retains all the data and apps that have been loaded.

If you are on an older version than 16.7 its likely you will need a clean flash as dirty will flash ok but you may be stuck on boot screen. Clean flash is the recommended way to ensure no hidden errors. I am just lazy as Slim is releasing updates quicker than I can clean flash all my boxes lol

I have found out how to root SlimRom with Magisk:

    1. Root SlimRom via the settings
Then you will have "Superuser" rooting.

    2. Install TWRP
You don't need to, but you can install your TWRP image permanently via the TWRP app:

    3. Extract boot.img
You need to extract "boot.img" in TWRP:
    Code:
    cat /dev/block/boot > /sdcard/boot.img

    4. Patch the stock boot.img with Magisk manager app
    Install Magisk manager apk.
Press the upper install button and select the stock boot.img.
Magisk will create a patched boot.img.

    5. Now unroot in SlimBox settings

    6. Flash the patched boot.img in TWRP by selecting install, then image, then choose the file, to "boot"

    7. Finally flash Magisk.zip in TWRP

    Thats it.

    14.7 is out!!!

    3. Extract boot.img from stock firmware
You need to have a stock rom for your device.
Ideally a zipped rom, so that you can extract the "boot.img" out of it.

In case you have an img-file, than you need to extract "boot.img" out of it via Amlogic toolkit:

By this you can extract the stock boot.img from the stock firmware.

This is only good for android 7 images, Android 9 (which most people are using) is totally different.
To root slimbox you only need patch the current boot.img
    In twrp :
    cat /dev/block/boot > /sdcard/boot.img

Then use magisk to patch the img

    Reboot to twrp

Flash the patched boot.img to boot.

    Reboot
