Hello everybody,
I have an android box A95X F3 Air Amlogic S905x3 4GB/64GB Android 9.0.
I installed the ROM https://slimboxtv.ru/a95x-f3-air-slim/ and everything worked correctly. The ROM is amazing. The box became much faster and fluid.
I just have one problem. I installed this ROM to be able to use the MEO app (which is on the playstore).
When I try to run the app I get the error:
"Android TV device not certified. To use the MEO application you must use a device certified for Android TV. Look for this symbol to confirm certification -> Powered By androidtv"

Does anyone know a way to overcome this problem and be able to use the MEO app?

I have a "Xiaomi MI BOX S Android TV" and the MEO app works great.

Thanks in advance

Try Aidan's ROM. It's certified.
I already tried with Aidan's ROM. In this ROM the box is always in BOOT. I chose the correct version, but Aidan's ROM does not work on the A95X F3 Air Amlogic S905x3.
Can you help me certify the box?

I think it is possible using this utility, but the folder is empty:

Android 9.0 is the last upgrade that will see on this device, Amlogic has dropped support for S905W chipset while ago.

something like this...

i mean that old android smart phone never get update officialy thats why aosp lineage os avilable..i mean unofficially

...old android smart phone never get update officialy thats why aosp lineage os avilable..i mean unofficially
Phones are sold in an larger quantities and are more spread than TV boxes, i.e. greater possibilities of (unofficial) support.
The S905W is a relatively old chipset and underpowered, compared to the newer S905X2 (G12) and S905Y2 (SM1) SoC's, i dont expect any more support in the future.

Try slimhouse twrp again.
Keep in mind it is temporary twrp for slim firmware only.
Should start in Russian
Then you change language

For backup maybe try Titanium
Or I see Alpha Backup on slim site.

May test Alpha myself

Yes I'm using slim firmware and slimhouse twrp.
Slimhouse TWRP is what's getting stuck.
I need to load it from a usb drive because the sdcard is being used as adoptable system memory.
I don't want to install twrp permanently as that will prevent patches from the slimbox system settings.
Alpha works but can be quirky.

Okay
Put temporary twrp on USB

Here is method of madness I use

First enable root

Place temporary twrp on 32 gig usb drive
From slim settings
Installing patch
Select twrp
Will install from there
Or take you to recovery

From there
Apply from ext
Select udisk
Install
Change language (if required)
Create backup

By default will go to internal
I use Select storage
Move to otg udisk(same usb temporary twrp is on)

Create backup
Reboot
Remove usb and keep in safe place

There are other methods with terminal/adb
I prefer slow manual method

Good luck

Happy Testing

Thanks, you know some coreelec informations about X96 max+ with some instructions?
    Go to CoreELEC Forum
    Discourse.coreelec.org
Do not have to be member
    Instructions all there.
Basically burn image to SD card or USB
    rename DTB to dtb.img...etc

    I saw

which tv settings you mean? in the settings of the tv box where i have slimbox rom installed?

in the device settings i can only find display settings, where i see HDMI CEC....Dolby Vision

I mean your TV. I assume the problem is on the same TV? Some Tv's, the new ones have several HDMI modes and you can select between HDMI standard (1.4), advanced (2.0) and Dolby Vision (2.1). Newer Tv's can probably have even more HDMI formats. You need to select between these formats while you are in HK1 to see where it was defaulted...

I'm saying this because the exact same thing happened to me on a Sony TV, no signal because it was in HDMI format standard, changing to advanced on the HK1 port worked...

How can he test Coreelec? He needs android to work first so he can reboot to bootloader and coreelec boots if i'm not mistaken. I've tried to put coreelec usb/sdcard before turning HK1 on and it never went to coreelc first, even with the toothpick process... It only works when android boots and then "reboot upload" with an app like termux or similar and coreelec gets booted, but if you can do it without having an android ROM installed and working that would be awesome...
Coreelec will boot even if the TVbox is "soft-bricked" . In soft-bricked TVboxes you may not need to press the reset button to boot Coreelec. Anyway I have given him links for ugoos port 0.5.3 (AOSP and ATV versions) throuth PM.

I'm sorry to ask but what size are your sdcard or usb stick for coreelec, because from what've heard it needs less than 1GB and come on, every ~30 EUR box nowadays has at least 32GB of eMMc, HK1 64GB costs what? 40EUR...almost the same as a good usb stick or sdcard for coreelec if i'm not mistaken...
    This thread is about slimboxtv
I have slimboxtv on internal on all 3 of my boxes.
    Running great.
Coreelec on external on all 3 boxes
    Can switch between effortlessly.

    Both are running great.

    Great job Team SlimHouse !!!

    Again to each his own

Come to CoreELEC forum to discuss

My problem with coreelec is that nobody recommends to install it on internal eMMc and that's the main reason i won't use it at all because i don't like to spend a usb stick or sdcard just for coreelec. And plain and simple if you don't use android anymore why waste a usb stick or sdcard when you can install it on internal memory?! And here we go...can anyone explain me why not?!

PS: No one on Coreelec site supports installation on internal eMMc and they don't explain why at least they don't explain with the truth!!! They say they don't recommend because... and then they go away doing something else and we waiting for the "why not". Still today and no answers...
I also do not recommend to install it at the EMMC, but I think you can try it if you already know the 2 pins to recover/revive the TVbox if it is bricked !! The reason they do not recommend it, I think is that they can not guarantee that you will get a dual boot system (Coreelec+Android) for not supported by them TVboxes. (probably you will get only Coreelec). Anyway you can try if you want.
Just for test reasons I installed in EMMC of my HK1 Box Armbian. It was really fast from it, but after that the TVbox was not recognised from my PC and USB Burning Tool, so I had to use shorting/connecting of the 2 pins to install my Android firmware again.
I remember that when installing Coreelec in EMMC there is an option to install it alongside the Android or ONLY Coreelec. If you want only Coreelec, I think you should choose this option (anyway maybe the 1st option will create only problems).

I have found out how to root SlimRom with Magisk:

    1. Root SlimRom via the settings
Then you will have "Superuser" rooting.

    2. Install TWRP
You don't need to, but you can install your TWRP image permanently via the TWRP app:

    3. Extract boot.img
You need to extract "boot.img" in TWRP:
    Code:
    cat /dev/block/boot > /sdcard/boot.img

    4. Patch the stock boot.img with Magisk manager app
    Install Magisk manager apk.
Press the upper install button and select the stock boot.img.
Magisk will create a patched boot.img.

    5. Now unroot in SlimBox settings

    6. Flash the patched boot.img in TWRP by selecting install, then image, then choose the file, to "boot"

    7. Finally flash Magisk.zip in TWRP

    Thats it.

    14.7 is out!!!

    3. Extract boot.img from stock firmware
You need to have a stock rom for your device.
Ideally a zipped rom, so that you can extract the "boot.img" out of it.

In case you have an img-file, than you need to extract "boot.img" out of it via Amlogic toolkit:

By this you can extract the stock boot.img from the stock firmware.

This is only good for android 7 images, Android 9 (which most people are using) is totally different.
To root slimbox you only need patch the current boot.img
    In twrp :
    cat /dev/block/boot > /sdcard/boot.img

Then use magisk to patch the img

    Reboot to twrp

Flash the patched boot.img to boot.

    Reboot
