I have installed Slimbox Android TV 9.3 on Mini M8s II, everything works great, but I am unable to add a patch for my WiFi network card. According to the instructions on the Installing patches page, I am supposed to select Slimbox Settings and then Installing patches, but the latter item is not in the menu. What to do with the wifi_ap6212.zip file in this situation? Help please.

Hold the reset button (at the end of the A/V port hole, or separate button on the box) pressed for a few moments and power on the device.
Hmm... I noticed a problem. Is it possible that the reset button stopped working after installing Slimbox 9.3? The way you suggested to enter recovery does not work, also USB Burning Tool does not detect the device after connecting it to the computer with a USB cable and pressing reset. It worked before.

Hi there, is it possible to make a spesific slimbox rom for a95x f4? I've tried all slimbox 11.4 roms for my a95x f4, there are two roms that are working.
  1. The first one is sbx_tanix_x4_atv_11_4. After flashing this rom, all connectivity (hdmi, bluetooth, lan, wifi) are working, except for s/pdif output.
  2. The second one is sbx_vontar_x4_atv_11_4. After flashing this rom, only s/pdif output works, but no connectivity, no bluetooth, lan, or wifi.
So is it possible to incorporate sbx_vontar_x4_atv_11_4 s/pdif drivers to sbx_tanix_x4_atv_11_4, and voila, we will have a 100% working rom for a95x f4.

Not working wireless mouse and 2.4 Ghz remote with airmouse. They work in stock recovery. Teamwin logo appears after installing TWRP. and can't go any further. No reaction to mouse movements and clicks. Any ideas?
Might not work for you...
As soon as TWRP starts up, begin pressing remote keys..directiional(volume?). I've had similar issue years ago.

This way works, I can enter recovery and install TWRP_AML_SlimHouse_3.5.2.zip, but when TWRP starts it stops at the graphics page and you can't go further with the remote control or mouse.
The solution for the Mini M8S II turned out to be the use of TWRP_AML_SlimHouse_3.4.0_3, which works normally unlike the last version 3.5.2. Important for owners of this box who want to install ROM sbx_amlogics_905x_atv_9_3: the reset button stops working, i.e. using the USB Burning Tool and thus installing a new ROM is impossible because the computer does not detect the box. You need to use Nand Chip Mask Rom, i.e. short the appropriate pins on the motherboard. I don't know which ones yet. Maybe someone will help.

"Differences between different branches of firmware.

    There are no noticeable differences!
In terms of functions, settings, interface, everything, if possible, is brought to uniformity and similarity.
On your particular TVbox model, there may (or may not be) minor nuances. It is impossible to identify and describe them.
We test, choose a branch ourselves. If something doesn't work, try another one.

What do you mean, can you explain ?
On 3.1 or higher you have to wait before pressing the start button until the PC recognize the tv box. On any 2 Amlogic burning tool you have to push the start button right away and connect the tv box to the PC with pressed start button.

I have found out how to root SlimRom with Magisk:

    1. Root SlimRom via the settings
Then you will have "Superuser" rooting.

    2. Install TWRP
You don't need to, but you can install your TWRP image permanently via the TWRP app:

    3. Extract boot.img
You need to extract "boot.img" in TWRP:
    Code:
    cat /dev/block/boot > /sdcard/boot.img

    4. Patch the stock boot.img with Magisk manager app
    Install Magisk manager apk.
Press the upper install button and select the stock boot.img.
Magisk will create a patched boot.img.

    5. Now unroot in SlimBox settings

    6. Flash the patched boot.img in TWRP by selecting install, then image, then choose the file, to "boot"

    7. Finally flash Magisk.zip in TWRP

    Thats it.

    14.7 is out!!!

    3. Extract boot.img from stock firmware
You need to have a stock rom for your device.
Ideally a zipped rom, so that you can extract the "boot.img" out of it.

In case you have an img-file, than you need to extract "boot.img" out of it via Amlogic toolkit:

By this you can extract the stock boot.img from the stock firmware.

This is only good for android 7 images, Android 9 (which most people are using) is totally different.
To root slimbox you only need patch the current boot.img
    In twrp :
    cat /dev/block/boot > /sdcard/boot.img

Then use magisk to patch the img

    Reboot to twrp

Flash the patched boot.img to boot.

    Reboot
