Hi! Greets from Brazil! I have a Vontar X4 with SBX ROM. I bought a cooler fan because the proc. temperature was about 80C with 1080p videos.

The problem now is: The fan doesnt turn off. It is all the time on.

i ˋve tested all power off options, in two usb ports. The cooler is always on. Even the tvbox turned off, seems the two usb ports keeps on. It is a bug?

Is there any way to turn off the usb ports when the device is shutted down?

Thank you all!

I have had several boxes thru the years and some turn off the UBS, and others don't. So what I've done was buy a wireless remote control outlet and plug it into the wall and plug the box into it. Has a remote control and you can turn on everything with the remote. Have fun.

Is there any way to Control the USB via slim box tv? Or Android?

Thanks

Hi Reaper Man,
I have a question, if there is a new update or patch, can this rom update through the Update section or do I have to re-flash the new ROM?
Since this is my first time using this ROM, I really need this information.
Thank you much. ;)

The OTA update function was too costly for Slim House.
Download and flash clean(erase data/bootloader).
The link to patch(& how to) is on the same information page as your firmware.
You must manually unzip and place these files in proper folders.

@SlimHouse (or somebody who knows it):

actually i have the slimBOXtv-Version 9.6 installed on several boxes and then the patch 9.6.4 from the „UpdateSBXtv“-Folder where i downloaded the patch-file.

My slimbox settings show Version 9.6.4 and everything is working fine.

    Now my question:

when the next update appears, let´s say the slimBOXtv-Version 9.7 with the patch 9.7.4 for example,

can i install directly the patch 9.7.4 from the „UpdateSBXtv“-Folder or must i install first (with sd card or usb burning) the rom 9.7 and afterwards the patch 9.7.4?

I hope, i can install immediately the patch then and it is not necessary first to install the new rom-version with burning tools!
you need to do a full install for new releases currently (ex: 9.6 to 9.7).
this could change in the future tho.. but for now, the patching method only works with point releases (ex: 9.6.4 to 9.6.5).

    Hello guys,

I just brought H96max x4 box and have search on official website and there is no rom on this box tab from the project.

But there is rom for x96 max x4 and transpeed x4.

Any of this Roms of slimbox have been test on h96max x4 since its the Same cpu and gpu?

    Thanks
there isnt a rom made for that box yet..

i found a post that says that the rom for the transpeed x4s will work tho.. might be worth testing.

just make sure that you know how to recover the stock rom before testing

I have found out how to root SlimRom with Magisk:

    1. Root SlimRom via the settings
Then you will have "Superuser" rooting.

    2. Install TWRP
You don't need to, but you can install your TWRP image permanently via the TWRP app:

    3. Extract boot.img
You need to extract "boot.img" in TWRP:
    Code:
    cat /dev/block/boot > /sdcard/boot.img

    4. Patch the stock boot.img with Magisk manager app
    Install Magisk manager apk.
Press the upper install button and select the stock boot.img.
Magisk will create a patched boot.img.

    5. Now unroot in SlimBox settings

    6. Flash the patched boot.img in TWRP by selecting install, then image, then choose the file, to "boot"

    7. Finally flash Magisk.zip in TWRP

    Thats it.

    3. Extract boot.img from stock firmware
You need to have a stock rom for your device.
Ideally a zipped rom, so that you can extract the "boot.img" out of it.

In case you have an img-file, than you need to extract "boot.img" out of it via Amlogic toolkit:

By this you can extract the stock boot.img from the stock firmware.

This is only good for android 7 images, Android 9 (which most people are using) is totally different.
To root slimbox you only need patch the current boot.img
    In twrp :
    cat /dev/block/boot > /sdcard/boot.img

Then use magisk to patch the img

    Reboot to twrp

Flash the patched boot.img to boot.

    Reboot
