Hi, hope someone can help me out, I can't find a specific firmware for me box but I gat a A95XF4. Someone know if I can use any of the available firmwares of slimbox?

Oh, I have no idea..? Do I have to unlock it somehow? I have noticed that I can't install apk files, so there must be some fault. I have enabled dev mode. I'm going to try with coreelec and see what happens..

It appears that only the official firmware is currently available on the slimbox website. Possibly in the future, a custom rom will be developed.

my installation of 9.6 AOSP build (clean flash) has Google Play Store in it. Was it added after 9.4 ?

As, I don't remember seeing it in 9.4 AOSP build.

I had sbx_x96max_plus_100_aosp_9_4.zip installed which didn't have any Google services in it.

I don't have any problem with those 2 apps, just that I didn't expect them in AOSP builds

Couldn't find info on the website but my External HDD (NTFS File system) was not detected by slimboxTV 9.6.4 (AOSP build)

Coreelec is a perfect system, but most users do not know how to use it and what else they can do with it. Just a few options:
- If you like/use KODI then you know better how to use Coreelec
- Coreelec has the best drivers almost for any TVbox. Why you need this? For example if you have a damaged/broken wifi module, you can use in Coreelec almost any external USB wifi adapter.
- Installing Coreelec in a micro sd card or USB flash memory stick you have a dual boot system (without touching your Android)
- If you damage your EMMC you may be able to use the TVbox form USB or sd card.
- There is an addon for Emuelec (to use it in Coreelec) in case you like retro games
- Netflix in Full HD (if you know how)
- You may use it to debug some problems you may have in Android (for example if wifi is not working in Android, you can use Coreelec to find out if it is a firmware or hardware problem etc)
- Recently I have installed a triple boot system at some of my TVboxes (Android+Coreelec+Emuelec)
- If your TVbox has a small front screen (lcd display) you can easily fully control it (only temperature, or time, or intensity of it etc)

I am using Android 11.10 and the box is TranSpeed X4. I have noticed that when the box is powered off, the volume sometimes decreases and requires a reboot to function properly. Perhaps Viper4a did not start properly?

Try waiting for your China Box to boot, then plug/turn on HDD. Powered drives are better.

Mine is X96Max Plus100 according to the 4pda post, the ROM boots fine and WiFi, USB ports (bluetooth Mouse) works

but the ROM is not able to detect 1TB HDD (formatted as NTFS partition)

when I connect it after the box boots up, the lights on HDD turn up but do not receive any notification, nor I can see that in Explorer/VLC/MX Player

Same HDD works fine on Sony Android TVs which is why I doubted whether NTFS is supported by the ROM or not
