ProjectX ROM (OneUI Based)

Whenever i tried to install this ROM, i can't install any apps from google play store. The download progress will keep on going multiple times (dowloading 3 times for one app) but not installing anything at all. I also can't install magisk app (tried flashing from TWRP but the app still isnt showing up). And when I flash the custom kernel, my camera app just shows blank, then an error message popped up ( basically camera is unusable)

while installing the rom Samsung Dex is one of the feature apps you can chose to have restored, I've not heard people complaining that it doesn't work. follow absolute best practice for the install and you shouldn't have any problems. if you have the latest OneUI update then use the latest build of ProjectX. boot into twrp after backing up, format data and type yes to confirm. then reboot from recovery to recovery (important step) and then you can wipe cache and dalvik and then copy the rom zip from PC to your phone.

I did try this myself. It does work and it does boot successfully after flashing.
I didn't try many things, but a popup that "android.process.acore" has crashed repeatedly pops up frequently. This appears to be related to the contacts app, which crashes upon opening.
So yeah, it does boot, but doesn't work too well. (Which is obviously expected)
I'll retry with July patch.
Already big thanks for putting in the effort for this rom!

FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN'T INSTALL APPS

if you check when installing ProjectX you'll see if all partitions took a decent amount of time to flash. if the vendor partition flashes in 1 second then it didn't work and you'll have a knock on effect in the data partition most commonly.
The Solution... the install procedure should be boot twrp, format data. then go to twrp's reboot menu and reboot to recovery before wiping dalvik, cache and flashing ProjectX.
when you format data you should always reboot twrp to make sure twrp is working with the cleaned up file system.

camera issues with custom kernels are a thing but check out the latest Prime Kernel posted today. a lot of testing was done on that.

I am not able to use a couple of banking applications due to this. Is there any way I can remove the root?
This ROM looks very good and this is the only thing that constraints me using this ROM.

What amazes me is how persistent the branding is. My phone was originally provided on the Three network, but I thought just flashing the generic firmware would erase all traces of Three. However, no and even on Project X I get Three on my case with a splash screen on boot and notification about about apps. Is there anyway to completely debrand the phone or at least block these notifications now I have root?

if its a snapdragon model then it wont change the splash screen. Only on exynos it is possible

I am exynos, still got splash screen and notifications from original carrier.

before or after you flashed the zip open it with a decent file manager and copy the boot.img file. if you then boot into twrp, select install image and flash the boot.img to the boot partition in twrp you'll be un-rooted. just uninstall the magisk app too.
please look up magisk hide options though, about 90 percent of apps that try to detect root can be fooled. it really does depend how far that bank asked it's app developers to go in detecting root.

I updated to the latest version for the Snapdragon 5G version. My only complaint is the"Restart/Reboot" option is missing. It is just Power Off, and that is it.

in the latest version v4.5 / v4.1lite it should be turned on by default but if it's not go to settings / advanced features / global action settings and select what options you want to show.
