Proper etiquette for selling smartphones?

Well, it's been a nice 2 years, but I'm ready to move on. My Sensation's (and T-Mobile) contract is going to be over on the 11th. I am looking to sell this rooted Sensation of mine on Amazon. Is there anything I should know about selling my phone? Should I flash a stock rom? Do I worry about what rom is on it when I sell it? What steps should I take to remove all of my information from the phone? (Besides the obvious SIM card, SD card, and accounts)

I have never sold a cell phone before. What are the steps I should take?

Also, as a 21 year old student, I'm looking for a new smartphone for around $100-$150 that won't make me pay it off for the next two years. (prepaid) What would you guys and gals recommend? My girlfriend and I are keeping our eyes out for any good deals for a sort of "family plan".

I haven't looked around much lately, but my eyes have opened to the LG Volt and Moto G (2014 model)

you can flash the stock rom from recovery and you are done
