Yes, I can get to download, but not the 1.64 SS.

What now?
The good news is if you can get to download it is pretty easy to get your phone up and running again. Bad news is I can't talk you through it.

Did you check this thread?

I think you just have a soft brick. I would just say run through the soft brick recovery and then start again from scratch.

Also 1.64 safestrap is pretty old. Might want to use a newer version

In fact if you are upgrading to KK you HAVE to use 3.72 and have busybox installed prior to your upgrade attempt.

Thanks a lot! I was able to recover from my soft-brick using the Verizon PIT file and the stock 4.3 MJE file with Odin 3.9.

Whew!

Now that that's over, I'm really fearful about trying the NC2 Firmware upgrade again.

Don't be too fearful. The great thing about NC2 is that unlike the other firmware updates it's a lot less "permanent" so to speak. You might enjoy some of the ROM's it has to offer. and if you don't now you know how to come back.

If you follow the instructions on the second link, Hashcode has made it easily available and easy to roll back.

I personally await Eclipse TW 4.4.2 for my upgrade to NC2.

Welcome back to MJE!!!

Sorry, I can't get Safestrap 1.72 to work on the Note 3 rooted with 4.3.

1.64 works perfectly for me, but not 1.72, it just goes into the regular boot sequence after a long pause.

3.72 is for kitkat only....

I wanted to thank everyone for all your help!

I simply used the instructions in this brilliant thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2726558 and it all worked like clockwork!

Now I am rooted AND on 4.4.2 KK!

But still have all the Samsung bloatware and want a nice looking, clean and fast ROM.

Any suggestions?
Eclipse TW will be out soon...it's very close to aosp.
Try hyperdrive, or pm cubusmybro to test his beta super slim rom. His goal was to COMPLETELY debloat.

I installed Safestrap 3.7.2 and when I click "ReBoot to Recovery" nothing happens, it is installed correctly and shows up as 3.7.2
Reboot to recovery from ss doesn't work (known bug).. and reboot to recovery from the power menu goes to stock recovery.. hit recovery from the splash screen after reboot..

What, root on the ota?

FoxFi is free from Play Store, but it's like $7.95 for the unlock key to stop the limits; neither of which require root, because I lost root from taking the OTA. The good news following the OTA is that the only reason I really used root was for Adfree Android, and no other reason, but the good news is that the file containing all the advertisement blocks still remained, so I still don't see annoying ads, which is acceptable for now.

Hopefully rooting does happen, but chances are I'll just get the Note 4 when it is released in September anyhow.

Hey, all
First, thanks for all the great info in all the threads I've been lurking on. You guys are beasts (that's a good thing).

I'm currently running Beans's rooted NC2 in the stock slot of SS 3.72, with a couple Wanam tweaks to make things look less Samsungy. About once a day, my status bar disappears and I get a notification that the systemui process has stopped. The only way out of this is to reboot, and turning off my Wanam tweaks hasn't seemed to help.

Is anyone else seeing this? I couldn't find any posts about it on here. Any ideas?

Thanks again, y'all.
