It updates a counter to prevent downgrade.Yeah. That may be. Unfortunately they will not be able to roll back to nc2 or jb because they took the newer baseband's bl, correct?

NC4 baseband is working pretty well for me on Beans NC2. The tests are from 2 different servers while I'm sitting in my closed garage. How is it working ? I found that thread on the way to work so won't be able to flash modem until tomorrow morning .

If you just odin the modem and stay on NC2 should be fine to go back if you wantmehh.. all im doing is telling people to hold off on updating if they want to retain root because going forward there is no publicly diclosed CVE that we can use on kitkat at this point.. if ur here your more than likely here about rooting, roms, etc.
if u want the ota go for it i wont stop you but the bootloaders are definetly incremented so no going back and getting root
nc2 bootloader = 0000000200000009
nc4 bootloader = 0000000300000009
Go back to nc2 modem. I highly doubt there was much change between nc2 and 4, besides fixing some holes. They were both made in the same month...I odin'd the nc4 modem and it kept cycling between lte and no signal at all repeatedly. It would stay connected for maybe a minute or two then drop for 5 seconds reconnect repeat. Any ideas?
Have you rebooted since you flashed and it loaded up? Sometimes it's good to do another reboot after it flashes and boots up.I odin'd the nc4 modem and it kept cycling between lte and no signal at all repeatedly. Actually - as it turns out, there were a couple of applications interfering with the switchover from mobile data to wifi, whereas wifi turn on, but mobile data did not turn off...Mobile data stays on for both modes, have you looked at settings/status/mobile network state?
