I gave up on this phone. Thanks so much for your efforts! Do you have anything explaining the methodology behind this root? I'd love to learn how you accomplished it.

Alright folks, let me try to help everyone out. First:

1. Download this. This is my Google Drive, get it while you can. It has the LG Drivers, TOT Files, and LGUP.

2. Install the LG Drivers.
3. Extract the RAR File to get the .TOT file.
4. Unzip "lgupnew.zip"
5. Run LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi
6. LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_1_18.msi
7. Copy the "common" folder to "C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model"
8. Plug phone into PC. Ensure USB Debugging is enabled.
9. Run "LGUP" from your start menu.
10. Select your Phone
EDIT 10.a - Select "Upgrade" or else it will wipe your phone.
11. For the "BIN File" select the "rootedsystemvs.tot" file you extracted in step 3.
12. You'll have root in about 3 minutes!

Note: This will install SuperSU, which will immediately need to be updated and you'll need another reboot.

If you want to throw a couple bones to help my Google Drive cost, it's [email protected]. Please ensure you send any pledged contributions to @tungkick

I am having a tough time getting LG UP to recognize my phone on Windows 10. Even running the app in Windows 7 compatibility mode doesn't help. I have gone into Device Manager and forced the VZW drivers on the phone, USB Debugging is on, and still no connection. I tried the pull the battery with the phone connected via USB and LGUP running and still no joy. Might be a Windows 10 thing.

Another confirmed working root on 10B. Stoked! Does show 11B after flashing the rooted TOT though, and software status is "modified." I SO don't care. :D

Got mine to work on 10, I had to install LG Bridge and LGUP recognized my phone immediately afterward. Saw this in another thread somewhere and it worked.

Works fine for me. Dell xps 15. What are you connecting as? MTP worked for me. Haven't actually tried rooting yet, but lgup is seeing my phone
