I have a quick question about the flip cover. On my S5 im used to the screen turning on when i open the flip cover. I have no code or anything on. So by opening the cover the phone is ready to use.

Is this function also on the note edge? Its a setting you have to turn on in accessories called automatic unlock.

Do you have it or hold it in store, or did you read it was metal? I held it in the door, but don't remember. I was just enthralled with the edge screen, I didn't bother to check.
No, I haven't held one yet. Hopefully by Friday I will be a proud owner of one.
I have read and watched every single video on YouTube of the Edge, recent unboxing videos have also confirmed that it's metal.

Please confirm when you have the actual device...I was looking for someone w/o ACTUALLY has it to confirm.

There have been conflicting reports, so you can't just take what people say in videos. I hope it's metal, but until someone has up close pics, or I hold the device myself, I wouldn't trust it.

It is metal. And it does scratch easily as the side with the Edge Display already has several scratches despite my going out of my way to keep it safe.

About the Android Authority story

BTW the reason Android Authority has the same basic content as my post is because I wrote both. They didn't copy or anything like that.

This the article I'm referring to BTW:

http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-note-edge-first-impression-543016/

Also about the Verge article: the review unit has been provided by either Samsung Japan or Docomo as the white variant isn't yet available to customers.

The reason the Japanese model is likely selling faster on eBay than the Korean one is that the Korean model is more expensive (though the prices on eBay are absurdly inflated) and it only just released a few days ago.

Also the Korean model might have an Exynos as Samsung's Korean website specifically mentions an Octa-Core CPU. Here was the story I did on that as well:

I've same results with my S4. Either I cannot take pics or I do not know how to use proper settings. I take pictures on Auto all the time.

What do you think? Did I miss something in the settings?
Its just how it is.
I had a s2 which took good pictures but you could see that the quality wasnt there.
Then I went to the htc one (m7) and the pictures where great good color.
Got my note 3 and noticed the pictures where good quality but they all look flat.
Search online and others look the same.
Then tested out a s5 and same thing, good quality but pictures look flat.

I think its just became a Samsung's thing. Great quality, but looking pictures.
Or maybe its just me. If I neef to do a photo shot ir something I use my nikon which takes hell of great pictures, but then again its not a cell phone but pretty much a dslr

Finally got my Galaxy Note Edge today ☆☆☆so excited☆☆☆
I am in UK, and I have the unlocked Korean version with Exynos Octa Core processor. Been playing with it for the past few hours.

My initial thoughts:

PROS:

- Fantastic looking - way more attractive next to the Note 4
- Feels lighter than my Note 4
- Very slim
- Exynos Octa Core processor - very fast, faster then my Snapdragon Note 4
- Feels very great in my hand. My hands are small yet it feels great.
- My 3 network sim works fine. 4G seems much faster than anything I have experienced before. It shows as LTE rather than 4G.
- Edge screen is fabulous

CONS:

- Battery seems to drain quicker than Note 4
- Loads of pre-installed bloatware - luckily I was able to uninstall most.
- Information Ticker panels only displays website from Korea. I can't seem to change this yahoo or other. I hope someone knows a way round this?
- RAM usage seems rather high even without any running apps.

Overall, I am very impressed so far. I love absolutely it!

Thanks. I have the flip wallet case on order, it should arrive next week. I don't have an screen protector on at the moment and that is concerning me.
Best sure to get one. I always put screen protectors on ever screen I can. I rather replace a screen protector then have to live with a scracth on the screen.

Also about the battery life. Alot of people had said that the international version of the note edge hasnt been optimize for battery.

I guess we will find out in a few days
