Hi guys, could anyone tell me how the replacement battery hold up, i was looking for this information what cant see to find it anywhere...
And also if someone tried the Cameron Sino battery, and their experience with it, i heard some people suffer for faster than normal degradation

Thanks in advance

I had this problem where my phone won't last more than 2 hours of screen time so i went on ebay and searched for the Axon 7 A2017G battery after a small research of the model. I bought the cheapest kit with screwdrivers, glue stripes and guitar picks. Never opened a phone before but it was fairly straight forward using a YT video as guidance. Replaced the battery and now i get the screen on time like it was new. I have installed LOS 15.1 last update posted (5 may) and my battery cappacity went from 2640 to 3000 as advertised (battery is 3140 in reality). The only thing is that the battery heats up fairly under heavy load or when fast charging. I'm keeping this phone for the 3rd year now still kicking.

Got a new battery from eBay, I had ordered the 3320 battery for Axon 7S but they shipped me a 3140 A7 battery in the 7S box, bastards.....

Anyway, will replace it soon. I still get a day from the phone ok with light use but want to know how much it could improve with no other change than the actual battery, and if it solves the early shutdown at above 15% when a load is on it.
Might install and run Accubattery for a while before replacing it.

Edit: I uninstalled/disabled Google app and Maps and installed Google Go and Google Maps Go plus the Navigation Go option the other day but kept WhatsApp.
This morning my phone had not lost one percentage point of battery overnight with data and wifi off.
Google is a real battery sucker.
Looking at Accubattery, my phone deep sleeps effectively. This doesn't at all mean my battery is good but highlights areas of simple efficiency improvement.

How the heck are people getting those speaker grilles off?

I can't get down between the grille and plastic edge to pry it up.
Ordered a new, more comprehensive phone tool set, hopefully something more usefull in there than what I have already, but I don't want to spend much doing this as I may as well buy another phone.

Setting up my Mate 7 to use whilst I do this.

You need to get something very thin to pry the grills up. Once you manage to get a corner up you will be able to carefully slide something along under the grill to remove. It's all fiddly. Just need to take your time. PS don't lose the front camera lens cover, you can't buy a replacement.

Well, the Axon 7 has had just that one initial charge on the new battery and been up for one day and 20 hours. Almost dead now at 7% . Can safely say the battery has helped.

Gotta say though, the S10e has amazing idle efficiency and has been up for one day and 13 hours still at 56%. It has honestly surprised me.

Edit: After taking the A7 off the charger at 6 am , it's still at 89% at 12:36pm (has had use) and normally it would have been around there or lower before I even left the house for work. Be interesting to see how it is after a few charge cycles. I used a low current charge last night.
Will edit again when I get home from work and maybe when I go to bed as that period between home and bed is it's highest use time.

Edit: Well it's 8pm and still at 72%, going well.
Edit: 12:49pm the next day and it's at 38%. This is only relatively light use but a massive improvement over the old battery which looked perfect before I removed it. No swelling etc.
Edit: Got past 2 days from the 2nd charge with light use.
IMO, Daydream killed the original battery. I don't use Daydream anymore but like B04 better than any other ROM despite the hold power button bug and no bootloader unlocking.

Well, time to put this to bed. The new battery is performing to rating as per Accubattery logging it's charge/discharge cycles and my issues with the Axon 7 shutting down early and also dropping percentage prematurely have been resolved. The phone now performs as intended.

No more dual SIM or Daydream use. Will see how this battery lasts. The phone should make it to the right upgrade age now.

Sadly these new batteries don't last as long as the originals. I replaced mine in feb 2019 and am already starting to see faster discharge with similar use as before. It was great for about the first 6 months.

I'm now starting to wonder if it's the opposite.
Maybe you need the QC compatible charger for the smarts, whereas a generic charger could just kill it slowly with no smart control despite the lower initial current?

Even with a basic charger there's still charging level negotiation that goes on between the device and charger. Doesn't the device ultimately control the charging level - that is, once fully charged there's no more charging.

I would probably stay away from the super cheap $5 charger, but I think the typical oe charger from samsung or other name brand is sufficient.

I use the asus charger from my transformer book tablet (t100). According to the meter (inline usb), I see ~1.5A when the phone has 50-70% remaining.
