Plus how many computers were tried, were the instructions followed, what was tried, how was masrom entered................
Why would the storage be defective, doesn't make sense unless something not disclosed
Apologies for delayed response.
I provide support frequently in a completely unrelated forum and fully understand your scepticism.
Everything has been disclosed, I see no value in non disclosure when seeking support for an issue I can't resolve - it would just waste my time and yours.
1 computer tried, the usb interface is recognized correctly when the tweezer hack mentioned in post
#942 is followed. Loader mode is entered and as posted I can read 'Chip Info' and 'test device' but cannot access the flash and ever option results in 'Get FlashID Fail'.
Based on a quick check of unzipped downloads I have tried AndroidTool 2.35, 2.52, rockChip Driver Assist 1.3, 4.8, 5.1.1
I assume either the V3 devices are different from V4\later versions, or I have missed the winning tool\usb driver combo.
It's no longer a priority as purchased a replacement but have an aversion to throwing away good stuff... even more than I hate it when technology beats me, so every hopeful.
And to those that have provided suggestions, thanks for your time and input.
It's greatly appreciated.
