I'm new to using ADB, but I followed the instructions closely in the tigerstown 3-15-15 firmware post. After flashing the firmware, I can't reboot my phone, and can't get the phone to go back into fastboot to try to reflash it. What I see now is : HTC in center of screen with triangles containing asterisks in each of the 4 corners of the screen

Here is a copy of my command line data during the flash.

Need to update to Lollipop

Friends,

I am new to this debugging and Installation stuff, also new to this android phones.
So be little patient to my problem, hope I am clearly with my questions.

This is what my phone current settings

HTC One M8 - Android 4.4.4
M8_WLV PVT SHIP S-OFF
CID-11111111
mid: 0P6B20000
mainver: 3.28.605.4
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-1.09.20.0926
OpenDSP-v46.2.2-00564-M8974_FO.0811
OS-3.28.605.4
eMMC-boot 2048MB

Situation : Phone was bought in US and being used in India (Airtel 4G). Working fine, but two main issues
1)Mobile HotSpot not working, Phone saying this is not a Verizon SIM, I want to completely get rid of Verizon stuff, No Voice messages, NO software, need clean/plain OS.
2)Phone signal is weak (Same SIM working with full strength in another phone-iPhone)

I want to Solve above two problems and upgrade to Lollipop. I understood that I need to update my Firmware and then some Custome ROM (I have chosen SkyDragon 10, I am not Tech Savvy, hence Simply selected this, thought it is good)

Now few questions

1)Do I need this file “VZWm8LfirmwareTWRP.zip” OR there is something in another thread that says modified for India, which one should I flash?
2)Do I have to update Radios..? to improve my signal strength..?
3)Do I need to worry about HBOOT or anything else..?

I don’t want to brick my phone that’s all

Thanks in advance

Can I safely go back to a 4.4.4 rom after flashing this firmware and going to a 5.0.1 based rom? Either to a nandroid or a full wipe/install.

Has anyone experienced a loss of the IR blaster after updating their firmware? Mine was working fine (with SmartIR), and is now non-functional.

FYI, I'm running CleanROM 1.3 (since it was released), but will soon be updating to 3.0.

I just checked for you and Mine still is in working order. I use ZappIR and running RKDN 4.4.4

Thank you! Would it be ok to flash the 4.4.4 firmware in twrp recovery or should i go through the flashboot adb process?
You have to flash it as stated in the OP. In fastboot

I thought this would be easy and it probably is, but I'm getting a little nervous because I'm new to all of this.
I haven't even flashed the firmware because I'm waiting for my SD card but what is the problem with the red letters? Is that something I should be concerned about?

No nothing to worry about at all. Purely cosmetic:). No need to be nervous its really easy...do you have working and/fastboot on PC? Then you don't have to wait for sd card. Myself I only fastboot

GPS won't lock after I updated to 4.4.4 using RKDN Rom. I use GPS fix deluxe from the Play Store which usually locks right away. I flashed back to clean rom 4.4. 3 and I got a lock right away. Anyone else having an issue with this?

I just got a GPS lock no problem on RKDN with updated firmware. Just check it when I seen your post.
