Are you somehow still S-ON with the rom? It wouldn't work if that's the case. You can also attempt to do it in recovery or if you have a PC, unzip the ROM, switch out the camera with funluan's, and re-zip it before flashing.

I went the way that gstanke went. Replaced using a root explorer, changed permissions and rebooted. Good luck.

I always just replace apk using fx through system (root) never had an issue.

Like I said before, the copy task fails. Even after using Mount Rw/Ro and Es File Explorer.

I used ES File Explorer to do this and had zero issues. :thumbup:

Strange, I assure you I am S-Off. I am also unable to see the system folder from my PC. I have tried the copy/paste method in ES and it fails. It may have something to do with me using the Fix Permissions in TWRP. Mount -RW/RO is not working for me either.

Proof:

I have always had trouble with system apps. I'm sure I am over looking something. I'm gonna try a few things in the AM.

Try using a different file explorer. I use Root explorer.

Or, boot into recovery, and use the file manager to locate the file, can move it to your /system/app folder. Before you reboot, Fix Permissions (under advanced on the recovery home screen).

@aarsyl I took your advice and used a different file explorer. That worked but the new camera.apk would force close after a second. I'm going to redownload the apk and try again.

Did you replace the app and change permissions before reboot?

Yes, I did... After doing all of that, my phone kind of just blackedout and went into an unresponsive state. I said screw it, and reflashed my Sense 5.5v3 with the old camera. I probably should have left well enough alone

Guys, I installed the Zoe camera from the Sense 5.5 thread and the video quality has no option but MMS. I thought I read a workaround for it somewhere, but checked that thread and this one and didn't find it. Anybody remember?

I couldn't find any way to change it and ended up reverting back to camera w/o Zoe. I never used it anyways

Been holding on for a while but feel the urge to flash something, and v3 is what im planning on jumping to. With my luck it will drop as soon as I flash v3 though.

Not sure but I believe Sin and Chubbz are pretty busy on their sense 6 port. V4 may see the back burner for a while. V3 is great. No issues that I have noticed. V4 was supposed to have beats audio profiles not sure what else. But I can guarantee you won't be disappointed with V3

Beats still works. Just sometimes your have to toggle it for the full effect

It probably just needs the proper libs to have all its options available. Sin snagged the ones from the ROM that funluan grabbed the camera with Zoe that it was in, so there's a chance that it could be taken care of.

Oddly enough, I didn't even know of those limitations until rodohmes mentioned it.

Zoe fix is pretty simple, just use the chromatic libs from the lib zip funlun posted. I haven't really had too much time to focus on anything android with the stuff I'm dealing with in the real world. Sense 6 is what it is we won't get too far with out major kernel changes or a sense based one, did I mention it's running on an aosp kernel? Yea no joke we ported sense on aosp, yet we're not mentioned on xda portal, what gives? As for V4 it's pretty much done, 4.3 and beats hack doesn't work to our standard so we might just back port the 4.2.2 stuff. On another note donate to chubbz help him get the m8! Most will be upgrading to that device and if you want the quality ports that we do, on that device you best help a developer out.

You have to change the video capture mode to HD (60 fps) then it will record in HD. When it is set to Normal it only allows the MMS option under resolution.

Unfortunately didn't remember that into halfway through a Tool concert so I ended up with some crappy video shots :banghead:
