Winner, winner chicken dinner. Since I don't like chicken, I'll make it steak. If you're getting that notification, I assume you're not using the stock app for SMS? That'll break VVM.

The links in my thread should still be fine. Where are you looking?Does anyone have the link to the RUU 4.13.651.3? Every link I find is done with a 404 Errror.

aarsyl,Do you mind telling me which Blackout Apps that you flashed? I will try to replicate the issue.
On another note, I'm not sure why you lost root. I flash SuperSU before the first boot of any rom that I flash nowadays. Might not be necessary, but it takes 2-3 more seconds to flash, versus booting into Android and realizing that it isn't there.
Lastly, have you updated your SuperSU app through the play store, or did you flash the latest version (v1.94, I think)?
Wrong thread but I'm happy to answer your question. You can run the RUU, which will put you back stock, with the stock recovery. If you're S-off you'll retain S-off, but your bootloader will be relocked. Honestly, though, your issue sounds like it's hardware related and not due to you being rooted. It shouldn't be an issue to take it in as-in, but if you want to play it safe, run the RUU. Keep in mind that the bootloader will still show tampered and relocked once you run the RUU.I just have a quick question, and I'm going to post this over in the Q&A in case this is the wrong place. if it is the wrong place I apologize and it can be ignored here. Am I able to just run the 4.13.651.3 firmware/recovery out the box or do I have to root it first then go through all of that? I am about to head to the sprint store to replace my EVO, the power button is giving me issues along with the sd card. sometimes it reads the card sometimes it doesn't.
Thanks,
Nate
Not a problem:thumbup:Thanks Fin.

I'll let Fin confirm, but if the link he gave you is a RUU (self-installing exe from HTC) then it will not include a custom recovery. And yes, you need to choose the "all other" option on HTCdev.Hey Fin, Sorry to bother you again with probably another dumb question, I really need to get my computer programming skills back up. Anyway just checking to see if the link you were talking about says ROM thread "click Here"? Also you said to run RUU, then DEV unlock, then install custom recovery. The link, after clicking your link, is the 4.13 firmware/recovery. So that already has a recovery for me right? SO after DEV unlock will I still need to install a recovery? One last thing I'm pretty sure from DEV unlocking before there when you select a device to unlock the EVO 4G LTE isn't there, so I just choose "all other supported phones"? Thanks again for your help

How's it going? Did you get your phone unlocked? Or have you not tried as yet. Just following up.Thanks Fin and shadowguy. I'm on my way home from work and I'm gonna get this bad boy unlocked.
