I have tried using Wanam but still nothing. I can change the carrier text on the lock screen but I get nothing on the status bar, carrier or custom text there, just blank.

Using Straight Talk which uses ATT here. ATT displayed prior to flash.

I have went over my APN settings and even contacted my provider to double check the settings. Everything is set correctly and I do have the correct modem, but still unable to use the stock messaging app.

Same here apns are correct (even tried messing with the apns) but still can't get MMS with the stock app but I Can with hangouts so that alone says it's not the apns lol
hopefully there will be a fix for this bc I like the stock messaging app better then hangouts

Take a stock Messaging app from a ROM that it working for you and use that.. If it does not work.. your framework2 might need to edited

Flashed Ok, But....

Flashed this last night. I have a Telus 1317M Note 2 and was Coming from Skynote Air. I'm still on 4.1.2 Bootloader. So I flashed the Agni Stock Kernal as per opening post. After Flash and initial setup. WiFi wouldn't work and couldn't get any cell signal. Kept getting a " insert SIM card" message So was unable to access APN settings. My SIM was in and it is fine. Suggestions?

Would the stock messaging app from any rom do? Like on my Verizon note 2 I have a backup of the messaging app and WiFi direct it could I use that? And would I just delete my current one from titanium backup and just install the new one? Thanks

Most likely.. I would try to grab one from 4.4.2 if possible.. If not 4.3 is worth a shot

Update:
So the messaging app from my Verizon note 2 won't install I go to install it (after backing up and deleting the current one with titanium backup) And it says app not installed.. so I tired a s5 4.4.2 apk I found somewhere on xda (will post link) and it didn't work

I tried restoring the app from titanium backup and I says failed so I'm extracting the rom file for this rom and I'll try installing it and see if that work
If not I'll just wait for a possible fix or just use hangouts or a 3rd party aosp messaging app from the play store

Any suggestions or if anyone have a Samsung messaging app apk they want me to try feel free to post a link and I'll try it

Hi Snowin, do you get any solution to the issue of no LTE?
I guess it my have something done with the baseband driver in this ROM.

Just some feedback on my experience and installation:

Came from DN3 (I believe I'm on the MK5 N7105 kernel from the DN3 post)
-Did a clean (install new ROM) wipe using latest Philz
-Wipe Dalvik
-Flashed ROM
-Flashed SuperSU

-Booted fine with no problems other than no root

rebooted to recovery (Philz still) and re-flashed SuperSU

-booted fine again but no root

rebooted into recovery and used Philz fix root option

-booted again fine with root.

All told took less than 10 minutes as has been running fine since then (5 days). Super stable, fast and slick so thanks and good work eZ!

Hardware is a i317m on the Koodo network in Canada.

Only problem - no LTE icon, but I do get 4G which I understand is the same thing.

Ok, I have i317m (from what I understand the m at the end of the model# specifies that it's Canadian version, which I have). This is Canadian version of Note II, but I thought the Canadian version and the AT&T version use exact same modem and just labeled differently.

I am really novice at this so I'll just list what I did.

1, Flashed with firmware "RWC-I317MVLUDNF1" (Stock KitKat for i317m) with odin
2. Flashed with TWRP (openrecovery-twrp-2.7.2.2-t0lteatt.img.tar)
3. Restart the system. confirmed the SIM works with data and everything working fine
3. Into Recovery mode -> Factory reset, wipe and all that
4. installed "eZKAT_v2.0_n3feat.zip"
5. Restart and no SIM

So If I just get rid of the modem.bin from the zip file, it will keep the current "modem" settings?
I think I will give this a go, whether or not if i get an answer.

I can confirm this method works for Canadian note 2 (i317m) with this rom.

Before step 4 from my earlier post. I made "eZKAT_v2.0_n3feat(no_modem) ).zip" by just simply removing "modem.bin" from the original file. Works well.

BTW. I hate this stupid s finder. It used to bring up "Google now" to search, when I long-hold the menu button. Now, it's giving me s finder.
After digging thru xda for some answers to how I can set it so that the Google now comes up, I'm guessing it's the Note 3-base rom thing?

I have rogers i317m and I had the exact problem as you with "no SIM card". above was what i did and worked for me.

From what I understand 4g is lte. When I check under network or says I'm on lte just the icon doesn't show. Still getting lte speeds when my phone says it's on 4g.

This rom flashes the i317 modem (i think. It definitely flashes the wrong one for our m models). Download the latest modem for i317m and flash and you should be fine.

I got it from 2 different places.

The files are named a bit different, but I'm assuming they are both the same.
I've only tried the one from the first one though, and it took me forever, roughly about 10 hours, to download from the second link.

Gonna try the second one today.

Is there any way yo get WiFi working WITHOUT using Agni? Agni makes my phone lock up (and then my alarms don't go off lol). If I don't plan to go to Roms below 4.3, can I just upgrade my bootloader?

Fixed the stock messaging app not receiving mms thanks to L18's idea to try one from another rom
I posted the link to the s5 style stock messaging i used and do what L18 said about using a file explorer to copy and paste it into system -> priv-app on 4.4+ and for 4.1.2 to 4.3 -> system -> app after you paste it reboot your phone and enjoy the working stock messaging app.

I tested it by sending picture message to my self and it received it no problem

Can't backup Titanium BU to external SD card while EZKAT is installed on my T-Mobile SG-889. "Insufficient room" even tho there are 28 gigs free.
Also get backup error message when trying to backup NOTE Everything app to SD.

Tried installing Xposed installer and using Mod for Access to SD card, but no joy.
Tried AGNI kernel, no change.

Switched back to SlimKat 4.4.2 and all backups work to SD
Wiped, Loaded Liquid Smooth 4.4.4, all backups work to SD

Any ideas? A setting I missed?

Try SDFix for issues writing to external storage and FolderMount for issues writing to internal storage.
