[Q&A] eZKAT 4.4.2 ROM

I have been getting an "unable to save to storage" error message for the last month on my AT&T Note 2 I317 whenever I download anything to my internal storage. Downloads from my browser to my external SD card work normally. I get a permission denied error when I try to paste any file to my internal SD card. I've been running custom ROMs since my Windows Mobile AT&T HTC Tilt so I am not a NOOB but I admit to not knowing much more than how to root and how to follow instructions for how to install a new ROM. I'm sure it is a permissions issue and I've tried fixing permissions, clearing cache and dalvic cash, but nothimg solved my problem. have even tried moving files out of the ROM partition that only has 4.09 kb of free space. Internal storage has 3.7 GB free and the SD card has 16.4 GB free. I feel like a total NOOB asking for help with somethingmlike this and I'm certain when I discover the problem I will kick myself for not figuring itmout but it is time to swallow my pride and ask for help. Of course I tried searching but didn't find an answer. It is probably here somewhere but my search critera have failed to surface an answer. I've found others with the same problem but no solution. In case it matters, I'm on TWRP 2.7.2.2. The full error message is "open failed: EACCES (permission denied)".

I want to take a moment to thank the developer for building a ROM that is both rock solid reliable and full of extra features.

On the main eZKAT thread there's a solution posted however if you install the xposed installer modules you will see there's a module called KitKat SD Card Full Access does the same thing without modifying anything yourself.

I get that sometimes after restoring a nandroid on this rom. I don't remember where I had found this, but it works perfectly for me. You just need to type EXACTLY as shown. Spaces and capitals matter.

Thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5048191 for giving me the simple solution quoted above. Worked perfectly once I fixed my typos trying to enter in precisely in terminal emulator.

after having installed the ezKat I have a real problem is that when I plug in the charger and phone is off it will turn on automatically . I want to charge my phone by leaving it turning off .can you help me plz

This was posted back a few pages on here and in the main thread if your on the 4.3 boot loader or lower theirs no fix that I'm aware of except shift kernel but the only other way is to upgrade to the 4.4 boot loader to charge with the phone off

But how can i find the 4.4 boot loader for my i317M to install it

Google it I'm not sure but google or search XDA and how to updrade your boot loader just remember once u updrade it u can't downgrade to any 4.3 ROM

And as far as upgrading the bootloader after u find the right file u need to use Odin if I'm correct bit again look it up on google or YouTube unless anyone monitoring this thread could put their input in/help lol

Bluetooth random mutings

Hey all - I have been searching for an issue like this but with my bluetooth 3.0 headsets (I have several I have tested with) I will be on a call and the caller will just stop hearing me until I undo bluetooth and redo bluetooth on the call. They will then hear me for another minute or so before it happens again. This does not occur with bluetooth music or listening just the transmission of voice.

Any ideas? I am as stock as a V2 N3 install can be on a i317. I have seen previous posts look at Radio upgrades but I was always under the impression that those were only for baseband radio and MK6 has always been fairly reliable anyway.

I have 0 issues with this Rom otherwise and have been a stable user for at least 3 months now. I have played around with Viper in the event that it was something to do with the drivers but the issues persist.

Any ideas where I can look next?

cant install

Hi im using i317 on stock rooted 4.1.1 used teamwin to flash while following your directions very closely when I install it sits there for a while saying no md5 and no file context..then it says failed..ive downloaded the rom twice from different mirrors thinking maybe that was the problem..and used internal memory to flash and external..please help id love to use this rom..thank you

I just updated my Note 2 SGH-I317 to this version of Kit Kat 4.4.2, and my wifi is not able to get to ON State,

Clock Help

I have recently flashed EZKAT 2.0 and so far its what i was looking for. I was wanting a stock or close to stock ROM to use for Kit Kat on my T-Mobile Note II as everyone knows a stock one doesnt exist. My only real complaint is I have no clock in the upper right hand corner. I know it came with the Potato clock which i am not a big fan of. is there anyway to get a stock clock on there.

Slipknot you can use Wanam that came with the ROM and place it back on the status bar if you choose not to use the Potato Clock. This should fix.

usb quit working

So I just flashed this rom, and it looks beautiful, but after flashing, my usb seems to have quit working. when I plug it into my laptop, not only does it not recognize my phone, it doesn't even charge it. it was working fine up til the flash. any suggestions?

Hey yea I did flash , but when I did is it fails so that's when I sent you this question yesterday so right know is working OK but I have no root access so if I try to cf auto root what files do I use for what number since I'm on att 1317 rom but my phone is t mobile and also the GT N7105 is on there just wanna know

EZKat Mic Problem

Whenever I install your ROM onto my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 i317 (ATT) it always seems to disable my mic (phonecalls or need to use sVoice). Speakerphone works fine. This did not occur with any other ROMs. Help plz?
