I have an xperia ray running the latest Gingerbread 2.3.4 (build .62). And I just noticed that my notification LED lights up white everytime I press any hardware keys (back, home, menu, volume up/down, and power). It will turn on and then turn off after each button press after about 5 seconds. And this is really a rare problem.

I tried flashing fresh official stock firmwares both latest Gingerbread (build .62) and latest ICS (.587) both used official kernel of each ROM. And it didn't solve the problem. I wonder if I can do some tweaking in system to turn the LED off except for notifications. Because I know it should not illuminate on every button press. And I dont want to install any app that turns off the LED because I tried and it gets killed in memory. So it works but not so effective.

So if an app can do it, there must be a tweak or fix, which I havent been able to find after all these weeks (googling, forums, etc). I'm worrying if this is a hardware issue, but it's impossible, because LED works fine. I hope it's a software issue.

you can flash cm10 or a cm10 based rom (such as Super Jelly Bean) if you dont want that lightning except for notifications

this is not a problem or an issue, its normal on stock and stock based roms. it lights up for everyone who has a ray

I don't remember being so annoyed by the light of the led when playing with my phone in the dark. And Sony said that the led should not illuminate unless there is a notification, and I still remember the light was never on in white color before. When I turn my volume up or down it always lights up, that's so annoying.

really? i just know people with ray which led is lightning by every button press, and also my ray, since i bought it but like i said, you can install cm10 rom, there its disabled. and cm10 roms run awesome on our ray

I don't know, man. I'm not sure. Other people said it's normal, sony said it should not illuminate. I have asked Sony again for confirmation. I can't find a tweak or script to turn it off. If you know how (without an app or script), please let me know. I'm just confused why would it light up because it's not a button backlight. I think I'm wrong. But still, I want it off.

I downloaded blood and glory (NR) recently but the game force close most of the time. :crying:

I am using Xperia Ray on Zelly Cream 2.0 with sirkay's X kernel 587-D :angel:

I OC to 1.21GHz - 806MHz (smartassV2, SIO) for normal use.
For gaming, I use 1.613GHz - 1.018GHz (performance, VR) and I use the ROM's built in RAM booster but somehow Blood and Glory keeps force closing now and then.

So please professional users, give a direct advise here instead of referring to a thread because I have read here and there and i still can't find a solution. I had tried looking for gaming threads here and there but to no avail.

So what I want to know is what is the recommended OC kernel for normal daily use and what about games that are heavy like blood and glory?

what would happen if i overwrited (by flashing) my hw_config.sh file with some other device's file.?
would it bootloop, brick, not boot at all or fc everything?
or even fry hw? or something else?

Not sure, but you could just make a cwm/TWRP backup of your rom, or you backup your current hw_config.sh and put it in a flashable zip to flash it back if something goes wrong

I am using st15i with stock ics 404 .587 fw and ofcourse i cant remember when i had more than 80mb of ram,free,but one thing is extremely annoying - sometimes,when i need to enter phonebook,it just takes forever.all other apps run relatively ok,but phonebook is almost always laggy...

Thats coz u havent typed anything.
I know you can see it there by default, thats just to help you with it. U have to type over it.

Jb doesn't have this.

Try extended stock, im using it for my daily n there's no problem. I only playing tap tap revenge and it's run smooth except for the internet connection

if u have cyanogen mod ,there is no option for mass storage by default you must flash a zip file and edit build.prob

i gave up my wifi connection i donnu if its normal to be 7m apart the router and i have bad unstable connection ?!! (while full bar signal strength in lap top)
on ICS i tried alot of kernels some were better but also unstable wifi connection keeps connecting and disconnecting and after upgrading to JB the same issue found ,only on GB was the most stable connection, i cant find a solution for this ,any one can help plz ?

If u did try different kernels,
Try using static ip address. If it didn't work
Try restting the router(button reset)
Then try again. Its worth a try. :fingers-crossed:

on jelly bean , i tried FXP 210 & Lupus kernel ,i wanna give Mesa a try but i had installed mods and afraid after changing kernel they wont work properly

root explorer, copy the apk, go to /system/app and paste it there. change permissions to rw- r-- r-- and reboot to recovery, clear cache and dalvik cache. should work

I have restarted mine phone also.many tyms but no use
