[Q&A] MultiSystem for Android

So i got a dumb question. first the person above does not even tell us what phone he got. dont all androids react differently? i mean i know how to get all around my G900A, so the dumb question is, what will result from a Factory Reset? i never did that on my GS5. on my old phones that were not rooted or have custom roms it would wipe everything out and revert to stock. what is stock when you have a custom rom OR does it just wipe DATA?

My other question, which is harder is, how do you get MultiSystem to work???!!! I am not dumb and can read instructions fine, but i never got a virtual rom up yet and bricked my phone several times trying (but like i said, i REALLY know how to get around in my phone..LOL). i have a spare 16gb sdcard and it configured perfect. the instructions are not perfect. really.

INSTALL BusyBox to /system/xbin
INSTALL MultiSystem APK & open it
INSTALL MultiSystem binaries by pressing Install button
UPDATE BusyBox by runnig the folowing commands in Terminal Emulator
Code:
su
MultiSystem advanced update_busybox
REBOOT to check LED indicator for boot options
CHECK permissive SELinux after reboot
Now, you should be able to create a virtual ROM & boot into it...

After the mount commands, it says to Install Busybox to /system/xbin. IS THAT JUST INSTALL BUSYBOX, which ALL of us have or is it something special??? (not much linux in this head...)

Install APK and press Install button. This results in a /Multisystem entry, but no sub-folders. When you try and update busybox it say MS not found. now if you reboot, still nothing. if you go in and turn virtual system on and save config, then you might get something. if i try to update busybox, forget it. soft brick. Hsbadr told me how to make an img file from current rom (which i did earlier and then i restored stock rom before starting this whole thing) so i did and i placed that where it should be and it then it showed up in the virtual list and i activated and saved config, but it never was on Loop0. I have tried this maybe 4 times with never any success and the video tutorials are not very good, even the one from RootJunky, and his are usually very informative.

So maybe if someone wants to PM me sometime to discuss, that would be great. I really only want this to work because Viper needs Permissive to run on LP and my G900A has a LOCKED BL, so that sucks. Hsbadr finally posted something so we know he is still out there, but no ETA for a new version. There are many things that need to be done with this, like at least making a toast msg or something when a task is done? and that green light. if you are copying a rom, it never goes out. I still never saw permissive mode EVER on my phone. THANK YOU SAMSUNG AND ATT...

SORRY THIS WAS LONG. MAYBE SOMEONE WILL ANSWER. THANKS IN ADVANCE...:D
This is the Q&A thread in the Verizon Note 3 forum. So I assumed they had a SM-N900V.. by all means I don't know what would happen if you factory rest on different devices and wouldn't recommend it.

There's a busybox installer app in the appstore.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.busybox.installer

This is the Q & A for MultiSystem, sir, not just the VZ Note3. You have answered nothing I really care about. I would never factory reset my phone, it was just a question, and you insult me by pointing me to a BusyBox app that everyone knows about, one of many. You are as helpful as the dev on this supposedly wonderful system that I have never seen run and that there is no proper documentation on, in my opinion. Did not answer a single question about MS. Why did you bother? These forums are for people to ask questions and hopefully get answers. Sorry for the sharp post, but really........

I give up for now. No one seems to want to help and I guess I will wait for the next version and see what happens. Probably by then someone will figure Viper out liked they have Xposed. Thank you so very much. NOT...

I will never lose root anyway. I know my phone and can get it back from anything!!!

I was finally able to get mine to go. I had to use a 16GB Samsung SD Card. My 64GB Samsung was just not working.

I thought this was a clever ruse as well. I went back through the documentation and BOOM it worked. I could not believe it.

I had a similar problem where I couldn't create an ext4 partition on a brand new Samsung pro 64 Gig SD card, so I ended up sending it back to amazon and used a Samsung EVO 64 Gig SD card I had laying around and it worked right away.

Funny, I had problems with the same exact card i got thru Ebay, but no problems with EXT4, i had problems after writing a certain amount of data in the Fat32 partition. My spare 16gb old card works fine, although i still have not managed to get MS to work on my G900A. Finally got it to boot to a virtual image, but it just got stuck on boot screen with the blue light on. Oh well, just waiting for another version to try again.

You just reminded me that every time I copied an mp4 file to the fat32 partition, it ended up corrupt and wouldn't play.

I am having an issue copying the Virtual ROM into /MultiSystem/img/system/ it says "Not enough space" even though there is certainly enough space. Does anyone know how to overcome this? I changed permissions on all the folders to drwxrwxrwx and it still says full space. I tried booting in Stock ROM and still the same message. I have also tried both ES File Explorer and File Manager and had root and the writing options ticked. Anyone have this problem?

Edit/SOLVED (kind of):
I realized I just had to be ballsy and boot to stock, and delete my Virtual ROM (after backing it up).

i have to have a issue where MultiSystem 1.3.1 does not stay installed,
even with rootfs and /system mounted as read and write. even following the instruction to every point does not change this for me. MultiSystem dispear after a reboot but present before the reboot, plus even updating busybox works.. just all gone after reboot. i am on sm-n900v phone. not sure what to do

Are you trying to do this whole on a virtual system?

the phone is on the main partition, havent been able to make a virtual img because it would restart my phone in mid process, so i was never able to produce one inorder to use that feature.

if i reboot the phone as follow by the instruction, MultiSystem is no longer present/installed, i checked using MultiSysem status which states MultiSystem not found, root explore to MultiSystem and it is blank. if i check the folder before reboot, all files+folders are there but gone once i reboot. not sure why MultiSystem folder to continues to get wiped.... so switching rom state is not possible in this situation.

^ Did you reinstall Multisystem and hit update configuration afterwards? If you do, I think you will see the rom/img files.

And I could be wrong but I think you would need to do a wipe before switching back to 5.0.x.

yes i have done that before and updated the configuration, remains the same where MultiSystem doesnt stick, just to mention... i am unable to make/use a virtual img due to system reboot where MultiSystem is attempting to create in progress... if i create a virtual img via android emulator the whole phone becomes unstable and msgs pop up thats apps stop responsing... example of some are dailer, messenger, bluetooth, etc...
