This is the Q&A thread in the Verizon Note 3 forum. So I assumed they had a SM-N900V.. by all means I don't know what would happen if you factory rest on different devices and wouldn't recommend it.So i got a dumb question. first the person above does not even tell us what phone he got. dont all androids react differently? i mean i know how to get all around my G900A, so the dumb question is, what will result from a Factory Reset? i never did that on my GS5. on my old phones that were not rooted or have custom roms it would wipe everything out and revert to stock. what is stock when you have a custom rom OR does it just wipe DATA?
My other question, which is harder is, how do you get MultiSystem to work???!!! I am not dumb and can read instructions fine, but i never got a virtual rom up yet and bricked my phone several times trying (but like i said, i REALLY know how to get around in my phone..LOL). i have a spare 16gb sdcard and it configured perfect. the instructions are not perfect. really.
INSTALL BusyBox to /system/xbin
INSTALL MultiSystem APK & open it
INSTALL MultiSystem binaries by pressing Install button
UPDATE BusyBox by runnig the folowing commands in Terminal Emulator
Code:
su
MultiSystem advanced update_busybox
REBOOT to check LED indicator for boot options
CHECK permissive SELinux after reboot
Now, you should be able to create a virtual ROM & boot into it...
After the mount commands, it says to Install Busybox to /system/xbin. IS THAT JUST INSTALL BUSYBOX, which ALL of us have or is it something special??? (not much linux in this head...)
Install APK and press Install button. This results in a /Multisystem entry, but no sub-folders. When you try and update busybox it say MS not found. now if you reboot, still nothing. if you go in and turn virtual system on and save config, then you might get something. if i try to update busybox, forget it. soft brick. Hsbadr told me how to make an img file from current rom (which i did earlier and then i restored stock rom before starting this whole thing) so i did and i placed that where it should be and it then it showed up in the virtual list and i activated and saved config, but it never was on Loop0. I have tried this maybe 4 times with never any success and the video tutorials are not very good, even the one from RootJunky, and his are usually very informative.
So maybe if someone wants to PM me sometime to discuss, that would be great. I really only want this to work because Viper needs Permissive to run on LP and my G900A has a LOCKED BL, so that sucks. Hsbadr finally posted something so we know he is still out there, but no ETA for a new version. There are many things that need to be done with this, like at least making a toast msg or something when a task is done? and that green light. if you are copying a rom, it never goes out. I still never saw permissive mode EVER on my phone. THANK YOU SAMSUNG AND ATT...
SORRY THIS WAS LONG. MAYBE SOMEONE WILL ANSWER. THANKS IN ADVANCE...![]()
There's a busybox installer app in the appstore.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.busybox.installer
Sent from my Tapatalk App on Hsbadr's MultiSystem Rom.
