can't figure it out either, tried flashing Lineage and it's stuck on the boot animation too.If you're waiting 10 minutes or so after flashing the rom & GApps and it's still not booted then I don't know what's wrong.
Any clue at all?

This command should give you info about the bootloader status, post the output. I was under the impression that the stock reset tool locks the bootloader, so you're in a factory state when you successfully ran it but I never needed to use it myself in my OP2 days....can't figure it out either, tried flashing Lineage and it's stuck on the boot animation too.

fastboot oem device-info
I was under the impression that @pololovestreks used my unofficial Oxygen OS 3.0.2 fastboot zip and then updated to OOS 3.6.1 so his bootloader shouldn't be locked but, as you said, fastboot oem device-info would clarify this. This command should give you info about the bootloader status, post the output. Also try flashing Magisk 17.1 along with the custom ROM, maybe it's a kind of encryption issue that magisk can handle, there was a similar case already on this thread which was solved successfully but I can't remember if it was the exact same thing and what was done exactly, I'll check later when I have time to find it and report back when I have a clue or you can also check the thread via the search bar to find corresponding posts...Code:fastboot oem device-info

Yeah, now as you said it I remember there's definitely no default encryption on OP2... I'm very sure about it, I would also be surprised if you weren't right about the reset tool but let's see the command line outputI didn't think that OOS for the OP2 was encrypted by default?

When you restored to OOS 3.0.2 with the fastboot zip and then upgraded to OOS 3.6.1, was your EFS still corrupt?had corrupted my EFS partition I think and didn't have a backup!
When you restored to OOS 3.0.2 with the fastboot zip and then upgraded to OOS 3.6.1, was your EFS still corrupt?
Did both sim slots have an IMEI number? (Different IMEIs and neither of them 0)?
If so, then your EFS probably isn't corrupt.

IIRC, the modified TWRP was for switching between H2OS and OOS 2 so it'd be of no use here.EFS isn't corrupt anymore.
Its just that OOS 3.6.1 and RR Oreo have vast differences, that's why I'm looking to shift

I vaguely remember there being a modified twrp recovery file for some reason, maybe that would help.
Do you have a link to that?
Yes, I have!IIRC, the modified TWRP was for switching between H2OS and OOS 2 so it'd be of no use here.
Have you asked about your issue in the RR thread?
Sure you flash correctly, you do the necessary wipes of system, data, cache and Dalvik/ART?Yes, I have!
Haven't got any solution (yet)
Wiped it!Sure you flash correctly, you do the necessary wipes of system, data, cache and Dalvik/ART?
And you have a compatible version of TWRP for flashing? Did you check the custom ROM thread for a recommendation of TWRP?
The only modified TWRP I know for OP2 is hybrid twrp, used when different bootloaders (OOS vs. H2OS) made issues and normal TWRP wasn't able to handle this but this issues are long gone and hybrid TWRP is outdated...
