On my 6p with my headphones I could double tap the play/pause button and it would change tracks, but on my new Pixel it doesn't do it. Is there a setting I am missing or has something changed with O and/or Pixel?

It seems all i have is problems here

If anyone has a second, it'd be appreciated

Was systemlessly rooted. SuperSU + su hide. Twrp not installed. Last night i installed busybox.

This cause me to loose root. Cannot remove busy box, because lack of root.

Went through twrp bootable (3.1.1.1 instead of 3.1.1.0) image, SU/Root will not install. Goes through the process, but after reboot its not installed and im not rooted.

Any suggestions guys? Or go back to factory images and start over. Or would you recommend Magisk instead? Already spent two hours trying to get this to work.

Did you install the modded twrp using Fastboot and when it boots into twrp, flash the twrp installer. Then boot to system. Then boot up recovery and into twrp and install su sr5. Boot into system and back into twrp and flash suhide.

After seeing this, went ahead and installed twrp fully. Flashing Su or SuHide, doesnt do anything upon reboot. The applications arent there. Downloaded Su from the playstore. Says im unrooted.

When you fastbooted twrp did you have to enter your code? And did you install it to only read and not r/w. I'm thinking you should install the .008 update again and remove the -w from flash-all and then double click Flash-all and let it work, if you come to a point where the install appears to stop, be patient it will continue. Then install twrp mod in Fastboot and flash twrp installer, then reboot install su sr5 reboot and install suhide 109 and reboot to system. Then check for root, clean cache & data from play store app and clean cache from play store services.
Open su hide and hide appropriate apps. Don't hide suhide but make it blue to hide it from other apps.

As far as I know there are two version of the Pixel phone, Googles "base" phone and Verizons version. As Verizons version cannot be unlocked/rooted I believe all working custom roms will be for the Google Pixel. I don't think there are any 8.0 custom roms at this time (I could be wrong) so you'll be downgrading to 7.1ish if you want a custom rom that badly. That being said you can root a stock 8.0 rom and accomplish what you need to. The stock rom seems great and I've had no reason to install a custom Rom on my Pixel, and I've been using custom roms on all my phones since the s3 was released.

I have a Verizon Google pixel XL. Locked bootloader. I'm trying to sideload via stock recovery the new developer preview. It reaches 45 percent then stops and says unable to verify compatibility. I was able to sideload the October security patch update recently with no issue. Any help would be nice or would I have to wait for the ota? I signed up for the beta program ever since

QUOTE=Night·Fire;74052124]I'm getting this issue too. I'm also getting TWRP flashing when I select "no" for running Android 8 or later. I'm also a paid user.[/QUOTE]

I am having this exact issue. AV turned off. The rest of the modules DL without issues. Can I still use the toolkit and adding the updated TWRP?

Oh Man oh Man , I read the wrong thread and now I have a Verizon pixel XLthought it was able unlock the bootloader and be rooted is there anyone out there that would be interested in trading for the Google Store model I take it there's no root for the Verizon version and it's running 8.1 .. I would throw in cash and pay for shipping. What the heck VERIZON, is there any thing in the works for this ever achieving root?

Very Unlikely that there will ever be a root or Unlock method.

OMG

I cannot believe this happened. I did everything except unlock OEM unlocking. Finally everything is okay. Just leave it?

I forgot the password too when setting up.

Or can I unlock the OEM slider?

What is your end goal here?

You can hit the slider, that won't fully unlock it but will you allow to fastboot unlock it later.

It's finally not rebooting a lot. I have to have a PW for work. Would that be an issue?

None of this means I have to start over?
You can hit the slider, and it won't wipe your phone. But that will allow you later to finish the unlock if it gets really bad and won't boot. That would be handy as you could flash it back to stock.

You have had a tuff day, I would sleep on it and take a break.

Thanks, I suck.
