It may be an issue with the most recent twrp builds I've seen some reports of issues. Maybe be try an older twrp build

Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
Well I fixed my problem with combining these solutions:
- Downgraded and removed root/recovery by using LGUP to flash H99010c_00_OPEN_IL_OP_1219.kdz
- Followed DirtySanta's rooting instructions letter by letter (last time I messed it up by allowing it to boot without flashing kernel)
- This time installed TWRP-3.0.2-1 instead of newest one.
- Flashed "H990DS 20a Oreo flashable" by dudeawesome, MK2000 kernel for H990TR by askermk2000 and Magisk.

Now everything is working fine without any trouble, thanks for all replies. I hope if anyone with H990TR variant will save themselves a trouble that I went through.

I checked some sensor on my VS995 and sadly Accelerometer, Orientation, and Gryoscope sensor not detected. I use Sensor Box for Android from Play Store.
My software version is VS99520c (20c)
Is anyone have some problem with me? I'm not sure this problem come to the hardware.

I Already did completely factory reset also try calibration apps.
Please if someone know about this. let me know.

I have a Tablet that has the Verizon messages app. When I transfer to a different device, Verizon messages only provides 3 months backup...and because it's a tablet there seems to be no way to transfer the data via any 3rd party app. The apps simply don't find any messages on the device. I tried Mobiledit, which finds the messages, but in the end says 0 messages....

I'd appreciate if anyone can help me with this.
Thanks

If you have root, Migrate might be worth a try.

I think, after hours of reading, I understand that the VS995 on vs99520c that I just bought can't be modified. I can't boot into fastboot mode because, as I understand it, all carriers but T-Mobile pulled it a while ago. Most of the Verizon methods I see require fastboot. The device appears to have the stock recovery installed. When the phone boots, I see an unlocked padlock, which I assume means the bootloader is unlocked. Since I don't have fastboot I assume I can't do much else.

I was looking for the last good user-replaceable battery device, and I thought I had found it. Before I return this device and cry, is there any hope at all? If I still want this device, and I am stuck on Verizon, are there any other viable options? I appreciate the advice, guys.

Edit: After some more reading (I was getting there) it seems that the VS995 is unaffected by ARB. I should be able to rollback and apply Dirty Santa.

Edit2: I made it back to 12A, but I still can't access fastboot. I am at a loss. HELP!

Edit3: After following DirtySanta, and ensuring the scripts executed properly, I was able to gain access to Fastboot with the new boot image. What I found difficult to discern was the fact that Fastboot is only available AFTER the patching. I am glad it's solved. :good:

Having issues with my V20 H990DS TWN Model following root.

I rolled back to 10c version to use dirtysanta, followed through with all the steps and seemed to go well - TWRP is all installed and working.

However, every time i go to boot any rom (i've tried super, lineage and the oreo h990 roms) i get the secure unlock screen.
i have tried reflashing the boot image within twrp based on threads indicating it might have rolled back.
Some threads have indicated i should delete the lockdb in /data/system/ but that folder&file does not exist.

At this stage, I'm not fully sure what i'm missing but i'm getting lost in the world of xda, so hoping someone here might be able to tell me what i'm missing

You probably forgot to format data before flashing the rom

Unfortunately not the case, i thought this too so wiped the device, both advanced all ticks and data before flashing.

i also tried format data and factory reset to no success.
I've come across a post that implies there might be an issue in the twrp 3.3 build so going to try that next...

I am on Android 7.0, Dec 2016 security patch. Have not updated phone since then.

Since last night, my phone is heating up quick, battery is draining super quick, and the highest 3 items on my battery usage are "Google Services" , "Android System" and "Android OS".

Also noticed on occasion - Google Play Store is trying to install update for "Play Support Libraries".

Any idea on what my phone is trying to do? I just want to stop it, and let me use my phone again :) I thought something to do with a stuck update, but restarting phone would fix that, no?

I have tried:
Restarting it..(multiple times.),
remove battery and let it sit a few mins then turned back on,
Uninstalled all google play store updates, then updated google play store
installed LG updates that were pending.

I want to try installing all updates sitting in the play store..... but not sure that would make a difference. I am not on WIFI atm, and its taking a very long time to install each update.

I have a V20 918 (TMobile), running 10k, android version 7. What is the best way for me to root at this time?

Also, is it still worthwhile to root? i.e. does slimport feature out work via the USB-C? How about the second screen for other than stock ROMs? Last time I looked into rooting my phone (a long time ago), you could not use Google/Android Pay with a rooted device.
