If you installed stock 9.0.4 you already have stock recovery, except you installed magisk or flash custom recovery.Hi, I've installed twrp, lineage and since I don't like the look or feel of rom I would like to go back to stock. I've managed to install stock rom but I'm stuck with recovery. I need stock recovery for 9.0.4 but I can't find it anywhere. Can someone please tell me where to find it? Thanks for help.

Yeah that's possible with the same twrp and firmware installed. But I can't say it for the internal storage. Its a full nandroid backup made with twrp and i want to restore my custom rom and all data
Hello again,Hello everyone,
In past couple of months I was busy with my college and work outside of it so I completely neglected XDA and my phone in general.
Moving on to the point, I'm on OOS 5.0.4 (xXx full ROM) and I'm basically looking for an easiest way to get the latest stock Pie version. Usually I wouldn't be posting this long question here but all the threads are mixed and since xXx ROM is (partially) dead , I honestly don't have any sources left because every one of them is saying different stuff : "You can't use current TWRP for Pie" , "You need to do step-by-step update from 5.1.4->5.1.5->5.1.6 so you don't have issues with vendors" while others claim it's not mandatory - and so on...
I know it's a bit lengthy and exhausting question but I could really need some heavy assistance with this, I even asked @strongst for help since he's basically the expert in helping people because I see him doing work everywhere around here.
Thank you all in advance.
I'm currently using 3.2.1-0 TWRP version which is pretty outdated so I should probably flash siankatabg's (as recommended in links you've provided) and then proceed with wiping and flashing Pie , if I'm not mistaken.Hello again,
you need to backup everything and then clean flash(wipe system, data, cache) OxygenOS 5.1.4 (don't boot) and then you can either install beta
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...nos-beta-1-android-oreo-t3710003/post74629860
Or stable
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...xygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003/post72799040
According to the instructions for clean flash on every thread.
If your internal storage is actually decypted and you want it to be decrypted, make sure you don't miss to flash no verity patch.
Your current twrp can install 5.1.4 and also both pie versions(stable or beta) after removing the compatibility.zip as mentioned in both links above for clean flash.
If you have further questions please let me know :good:
Yes you can flash siankatabg's twrp which can handle both Oreo(5.1.4) and pie(ob29 or 9.0.4) roms, but should not be necessary as explained before.I'm currently using 3.2.1-0 TWRP version which is pretty outdated so I should probably flash siankatabg's (as recommended in links you've provided) and then proceed with wiping and flashing Pie , if I'm not mistaken.
Like, I don't even know what to say and how to thank you enough, I don't even know the number of times you've helped me around here and on xXx ROM thread, I'd like to buy you a coffee at least some time soon.![]()
Hi,Hi, I'm getting my OP5 next week and i want to know what are your recommendations about the first things i should be installing on it or doing before transferring all my files and info from my previous phone (such as get the latest official update, unlock bootloader, remove bloatware, etc)
I basically just want to have root and be able to keep the stock rom so i can receive the constant updates (my wife has this phone and i can see she gets updates very often).
Ive been installing custom roms in my old phones for a while and got bored of issues and having to manually update and reinstall everything from scratch every time, that's why i want to keep the stock rom.
Thanks!
Awesome, will give it a try during the weekend!Hi,
If you want to unlock bootloader and root start here, it's quite easy
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...k-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3624877/post72748896
Updating the stock rom oxygenOS is also quite easy when rooted
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...xygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003/post72799040
But the OxygenOS forces the internal storage to be encrypted which you need to keep in mind. If you don't want that, both threads gives you the explanation what to do.
If you have any concerns or further questions, just ask hereAwesome, will give it a try during the weekend!

Just keep taking official OTA updates till you reach Pie 9.0.4 - it will be more straightforward. You can then unlock bootloader, flash Blu_Spark recovery version 9.91 and then Root with MagiskHi, I'm getting my OP5 next week and i want to know what are your recommendations about the first things i should be installing on it or doing before transferring all my files and info from my previous phone (such as get the latest official update, unlock bootloader, remove bloatware, etc)

Sometimes I got this issue with my Bravia TV. Just reboot the TV or/and the phone, then it works again (at least once)... That's my workaround for nowHi. I am on Oneplus 5 running Oxygen OS Pie 9.0.4 with ROOT and xXx Magisk ROM. I want to use cast (screen mirroring) on my Samsung TV (smart TV - not chromecast) - It either does not connect at all or connects and within a second disconnects. (My TV and Oneplus are both connected to same WiFi network) . I have tried using WiFi Direct option from phone and also Cast option - nothing works. Is there some special step/mod required? Please can someone help on how to do this. Thanks
Edit : bizarre but the screen mirroring / cast worked for a few minutes but only one occasion and I don't know what I did this time.
Still trying to figure out how to get this working

Can you please give the exact error message you receive? Like a screenshot or the message itself.Urgent.
I have updated recovery to siankatabg's TWRP and I guess I've managed to install 5.1.4. successfully but I'm getting error when I try to install Pie. First I tried flashing zip without compatibility (with OTG) but it says my zip is invalid. I tried flashing the unedited zip but I still get the same error, what should I do?
I'm now in TWRP and waiting for your instructions.
