I have a question man. So i had the rom and it was doing really well. I tried to play this game that I always play on my phone but it wouldn't let me play it. So someone said I have to take the root out, and so I did through SuperSU. Ever since then my phone won't load up. I don't know if it was because of that.. but yeah. I'm realy stressing, because I have no clue what to do now.. I need help man.

OptimalRom 14.1 Update

Welp, I rarely post in here but have been a long-time fan of these forums and wanted to BigBot for the 5.0 OE1 update.

However, I wanted to know whether my baseband is supposed to show OE1 after this update? Because it still shows OC4 (I came from FreedomRom, did a full wipe before installing this.)

Cheers.

I seem to be having some problem installing this. I follow the instructions completely and I just get stuck on the Samsung boot screen.

Coming from stock rooted 4.4.2, I boot to safestrap, factory reset, install the rom, reboot to download, flash the fw tar in odin. Every single time it's the same result.

No clue what I'm doing wrong, any ideas? Thanks.

I have followed the directions, and looked through the thread. I am unable to get tether to work. It seems as if the provisioning checks are still in place. Is there a way to manually remove them after the fact?

Initial boot will take anywhere from 10-20 minutes.

I forgot to add this to the ROM, the latest 14-2 has the provisioning removed.

If you didn't flash the firmware tar you will still show as OC4. The ROM is OE1 but the firwmare (baseband included) is separate.

Bricked?

OK, so I've followed the Kitkat instructions and once I've flashed OE1 my phone is stuck at the S5 screen and won't boot into recovery... It no longer shows up in Odin either. Any tips?

I am currently running OR14-3 and so far everything seems to be running very smoothly.
The only problems I have encountered on 14 is that private mode fails to start and I cannot turn on advanced calling. VoLTE works fine on OR13 but not on any 14 variant.
Are they not functional in OR 14 yet or is there something I need to re-flash on my phone.

Does 14-4 work at all?
Using NI2 Kernel Flasher and doing a factory reset in Safestrap, I was able to flash the 14-4 ROM without issue, but after I flashed 0E1 kernel, the baseband version still shows BOC4 and Advanced Calling still requires activation but never gets enabled. So for me, its exactly like 14-1.

Extra Toggles

Will the OC4 toggles work with OE1 FW and Rom?

Does Advanced Calling work for you?
I activated it and restarted but don't see a camera button on the call screen. Going to try and restart the phone again in a little while. It might not have been 5 minutes like it said to do

OptimalROM - I am on OE1 Stock

Am I screwed? Just read a new official build came out - should I try to stay on OE1- I can not root as I am on OE1 5.0 Verizon G5. Or should I just update since I can not use OptimalROM anyway?
I really like your work and plan to use the ROM if a root method ever comes out.

Battery Issue

First off let me say thank you for the great work. Love the Rom. I am experiencing a battery issue since flashing 14-4. My biggest usage is from Cell Standby. I don't know why. I have tried clearing the Cache and rebooting several times. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for this wonderfully fast and smooth Rom

NI2 Kernel flasher

I had been using the NI2 kernel flasher and for some reason now I cannot use it anymore. When I flash it, I just reboot as normal, I no longer go into safestrap. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I also tried going back to OC4 kernel and FW. It wouldn't let me and would not boot up but gave me an error, I don't remember what it said. I had to do a battery pull and use Odin to go back to the OE1 FW and Kernel. It then rebooted as normal. I again tried to use NI2 flasher and it didn't work. The reason I was doing this was to go back to the OC4 FW and Kernel. I have been experiencing large battery drain and Gsam said it was due to the Kernel. I was using 30% of my battery.

Any help will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

I've had similar issues. Try calibrating your battery with an app from Playstore. Also, run the purge debloat.

If all else fails, it may just be your battery. I am thinking of replacing mine.

Are you guys running the kit Kat ver. Of this rom?

Flashed Odex 15 after installing NI2 Kernel Flasher on OG5 rooted. Then flashed the kernel for OG5 Stock SafeStrap.

Phone is now just chilling on the Galaxy S5 boot screen. Thoughts?

EDIT: Was able to flash into stock OGE...tried to flash into Optimal and it hangs again.

The Final Edit: Always check your MD5s.

Hello Bigbot96 and everyone else,
I'm fairly new to this. But ... I have just loaded up OptimalROM 15-1 (Deodex edition) and it seems fine to me. YAY! Thanks so much. I do have questions that have come up now that I am on the ROM. I think they are rom related but if not, please point me to the right place.
I went from a rooted og5 rom to OptimalROM. I followed the instructions, I thought I did a clean flash. I cleared the cache and chose the wipe option.
1.) After installing and wiping (factory reset?) the OptimalROM I went through the usual setup process on the phone but I noticed that all the apps I had downloaded and installed are still listed on my phone. How do I get rid of all traces of my old stuff?

2.) A bunch of apps started automatically updating once I booted up the new ROM. Is this normal? How do I stop that? Do I want to?

3.) I still can not uninstall/delete/disable many of the apps, why is this? For example, if I get a new messaging app shouldn't I be able to delete the current one? Others I can't disable (not that I would want to disable all of them) are like: Chrome, Camera, Emergency alerts, Google, S health, and Many more.

Maybe that is enough for now. I really appreciate any understanding/help/direction you could give me.
Thanks.
