DN3 development threads are intended for developmental purposes only, which means that posts should be focused solely on bug reports (with logcats) and assistance to further improving the ROM. Development threads in general are by no means a 24/7 tech support service but everyone needs some help every now and then and that is the purpose of this thread.

Most of you should already be aware that Q&A threads such as this are intended to clear any off topic posts and questions from the development threads to the Q&A/T thread, thus keeping the development threads clutter-free and ON-topic.

Any discussions concerning battery life, custom kernels, 3rd party apps, mods, etc.. will be posted in this thread along with any other general questions or topics NOT pertaining to the development of the project itself.

Any and all questions are welcome here but you must ALWAYS remember to search as well as read the FAQ and the OP of the original thread prior to posting questions. You stand a better chance of finding the answer to your question yourself by performing these tasks and it's a great feeling.

Additionally, no one should answer to OT questions asked on the development threads but instead, when convenient, respond with something like "Please use the Q&A/T thread for this kind of question". Consecutive OT posts will be moved here to Q&A/T as required.

Q. I can't see the downloads in the OP?

A. If you are using an app like Tapatalk or Xda forums go to the OP, then click the menu button (either hard menu button or the 3 dot menu) and select web view. These apps often don't show the whole posts on these forums.

Q. How do I get in to recovery?

A. Click and hold the Power button, Home Button and Volume Up Button

A. It is best to follow the instructions on their respective sites/forums.

What bootloader do I need to be on?

A. Any. Keep in mind 4.1.2 and earlier will not have wifi unless you flash AGNi Kernel
and 4.3 boot loader will not be able to charge while the power is off (it will force the phone to turn on)

How do I check the bootloader version?

MJ4 is 4.3 Bootloader (from Leak for AT&T)
NF3 is 4.4 Bootloader for Rogers

I can't charge the phone when the power is off?

A. You are likely on boot loader 4.3 or below...
You either have to live with it - or upgrade the bootloader to 4.4

Want to CHARGE your phone while it's turned off. Like it was on 4.3??

A. Then flash the Shift kernel
It's been confirmed by @absinthesummer working on DN5v2 Rom, with the old 4.1.2 bootloader!!!

Q. How do I upgrade boot loader to 4.4?

A. Look here for more info on the Bootloader upgrade...

My recovery said I don't have SuperSU installed. Should I let it install it?

A. No. Always do this yourself - Flash SuperSU 2.02
Then go to the Play Store and upgrade to the latest version.

Q. How do I install SuperSU?

A. Best is to flash SU Version 2.02, SU Version 2.02 then boot up the phone the SuperSU app may or may not be installed, if not go to the play store and install it.
Open it>it will prompt you to update the SU binary> go ahead and do that using either method (i use the first option)

Q. When flashing the ROM, the flash fails, why?

A. If flashing with Twrp and after wiping your complete system (including internal). When you try to flash the Rom and you get a Failed!! Then reboot recovery which will tell you no Os installed. Swipe to reboot the recovery, then it going to ask if you want to flash Root. Just hit DO NOT INSTALL and the phone will reboot. Then find your Rom on your external Sd card. Flash the Rom let aroma finish and enjoy..
If that don't work then you can try this recovery PhilZ Touch

I flashed the ROM and it is stuck at the boot logo??

Make sure your download of the ROM is correct (check the MD5 - instructions see below)
Reboot to recovery
(first try flashing without wiping, if that does not work - retry by wiping internal, then rebooting in to recovery again)
flash the rom again
when flash finishes, let the phone reboot.
the boot logo should come up. Sometimes it can take a LONG time to boot up the first time (5+ minutes) so give it a chance.

Q. How do I check the MD5 of my download?

A. Once the file is on your device, download ES File Explorer (or any other program capable of checking MD5). Navigate to the ROM.zip - long press to select - select properties - select Show checksum - Check the MD5 box, and click Calculate.
Then compare the MD5 of your download to the official MD5 (in download section)

Q. What are the best settings for AGNi?

I am unable to write to SD card?

Why is my WiFi not working?

A. There is a good chance you are on 4.1.2 or earlier boot loader - just go download the latest AGNi version and flash that.

Why am only seeing 4g, 3g, H icons in the status bar?

A. Because the Rom is based off the international note 2! You can flash one of the build prop zips in the download section, to acquire your correct icons.

I am having an issue locking GPS.

A. First switch setting to GPS only
Go outside, open maps, let it try and get a gps lock (can take upwards of 10 minutes)
Try flashing the GPS fix file for your carrier (in downloads section)

Does download booster work?

A. Not yet. This is ported from the N7100 which does not have LTE - therefore, no working LTE download booster. We are working on a few things so MAYBE we will get this to work.

Q. Internet only works on Wifi, why can't I get regular internet over network?

a) Check your APNs.
b) Choose a different one, then choose yours again
c) delete all of them, then re-add the appropriate settings for your APN

Q. Apps are showing that WIFI is on all the time. How do I change this?

A. Settings>Wifi> Advanced Settings> Uncheck Always allow scanning

Q. How do i get the LTE icon (such as on the i317M Canadian Edition)

A. Install GravityBox [KK]
Statusbar tweaks>signal cluster settings>LTE indicator style>Click LTE
You may get a boot loop the first time installing the module from XPOSED:
reboot in to recovery>wipe cache and dalvik> reboot

Q. I am not getting LTE?

A. You might be - Go to Settings>About Device>Status>Mobile Network Type (it may say LTE here)
If it says LTE, then you ARE getting LTE - you just don't have the right logo in the notification bar.

To change the network logo in the notification bar:
Flash the build.prop for your model / carrier.
OR
Manually use ES File Explorer
Click the little globe / phone icon in the top left (menu button)
scroll down to Root Explorer (Turn it on)
click on the actual word Root Explorer not the on/off button
Mount R/W
switch /system from RO to RW and click OK
navigate to /system
scroll down to build.prop and select it
Open with ES Note Editor
Change the value of lines: (don't enter all values, just the one that you want)

switch the /system from RW back to RO the same way we did above.
Reboot the phone

Alternate GPS Fix according to Bajanman:

Advanced:
1. Open the file explorer and go to System/etc (gps.config)
2. (optional) backup original gps config to etx Sd card
3. Then delete that same file (gps.config)
4. Now find the downloaded Gps file location and extract it!
5. Go to the extracted folder and copy the (gps.config) file.
6. After that go back to System/etc and copy it there! DO NOT FIX PERMISSIONS
7. Reboot your system and run a gps app see if it works..

Q. I can't get mms to work on straight talk?

A. Some people have issues getting it to work with the stock message app & download alternate such as textra from the play store & put in the APN, and it worked for some.

Q. Is there a modem in the rom?

A. No

Other Questions/Miscellaneous

Grey-Scale mode isn't working when turning on power saving mode?

A. Go to AGNi controls application and turn off MDNIE hijack (this setting removes the ability for the ROM to control the screen - thereby unable to change to grey scale.)

Q. How do I fix the font size?

A. If you chose the S5 Settings menu:
Settings>Accessibility>Vision>Font Size

Q. Why is Air Command not working?

A. There is a good chance it's not turned on...
Settings>S Pen>Air Command (turn on)
If that doesn't work? - Re-flash is probably best bet.

My CPU speed is not going above 1200 MHz?

A. Enable everything in power saving mode, then disable it - this usually clears it.

Q. I'm having screen wakeup issues?

A. @adam5150 modified the keyguard.zip to go back to the old one:

Q. My phone randomly has SOD (Screen of death) where it goes to sleep but won’t wake-up unless I hard reboot. Suggested fixes?

Q. How do I get F2FS to work?

A. On DN3V5.2 - f2fs has not worked reliably as of yet.

Q. A specific settings is already checked (or unchecked) in the position I want it to be but it isn't working. What should I do?

A. Try checking it on and off a couple times then set it the way you want. Sometimes after a flash these settings get stuck in the on position.

My Menu button doesn't work?

A. Does it open up your recent programs?
If so, then that means you selected the S5 remapped keys - to change back just re-flash the rom and select a different option.

Q. Music player (S5 Version) keeps skipping when the screen is off?

A. Raise the minimum cpu threshold – it’s a galaxy s5 music player bug - and that’s how they fix it on the n7100

A. Use Triangle Away to reset flash counter (allsharecast / screen mirroring looks at this for whatever reason)

A. Go to settings, general, device info and tap on “build number” 5 times.

Q. What is ART and why it doesn't work?

I seen that and have downloaded that weather widget and it's not compatible with updates for Galaxy Gear. (No weather update on Gear) I went with eZKAT Rom until this Rom was complete. That Rom had weather working. eZKAT has a nice Rom but I have been with DN3 since the beginning and love it.? ? want to try to get the weather working on watch. Thanks. ?

Finally can post here rom works totally fine on N7105 (Tolte) Apart from minor issues like UPSM & sound effects via Air Command which has already been pointed out Highlighted to the awesome devs regarding an issue for me with 'Reactivation Lock' under Security. Think that will be a perfect add on if it can be patched. Atm it doesn't turn on in the checkbox no matter what. Was any1 able to get it to work? Thx once again! especially to @sawdoctor & @Bajanman for their swift replies earlier!?

Google camera is working fine. ROM running almost a day with it and it's still taking photos and videos on both stock and Google camera without any problems.

Nope. Can't be activated.

Hi Guys thanks for this awesome ROM. It fly On my N7105
I have an issue, i need your help to solve it.
When i am downloading the key for an app that i purchased on play store it shows me an error "it cannot install on USB storage or the sd card".
I know thats a problem from kit kat and i already installed sdfix app from playstore made by next app. And it didnt solve it.
The weird it is a few kb, for example i install solid explorer fine but when i try to install solid explorer key it gives me the error.
On my tablet i had kitkat too and none of this error happened.
Can anyone give me a help?

Are you on stock kernel or AGNi?

Agni kernel v 4.2.0. Otherwise I can't get wifi because I am on 4.1.2 bootloader

Maybe try AGNi 4.0? Or stock kernel using data for the key.

Just guessing here though.
