[Q] Add a line at Radioshack but want to switch numbers

So here is my situation:

My family is bringing my Mom onto our plan cuz she is finishing up her contract with T-Mobile. I want to add a line at Radioshack to get the $149.99 Atrix but i also want to transfer my number onto that and give my mom the Backflip that I have.

Is this as easy as switching the SIM cards or is there something more I need to do??

Any help would be appreciated!
