I bougt the commuter last year. At first I used it for everyday use but I didn't think it was really necessary.

Nowadays I only use while I'm skiing in the mountains etc..with other words, for activities that could break my phone..

Im a defender user. but mine was bought to protect my phone in work.
When outside of work, i take it off and use phone normally.
Working in motortrade in 2000sqft workshop. Phone has been really put through its paces in the defender. dropped out of my pocket once while i was sat in car raised in air on lift! :D
Phone is still A ok. not a mark on it! of course, even if i wanted to..
the defender case is just to dirty to use daily now. so left with my tools for my arrival to work.
other than it being a little bulky.
Only other thing i find with it, is that sometimes pulling the notification bar down can be a bit tricky while in the defender case :p

I have both the Commuter and the Defender. Bought the second because the first one got a pretty huge crack. The Defender is bulky, but guarantees the best protection out there. The Commuter is much more discrete and offers less protection than the Defender. The Commuter has the polycarbonate layer on the outside so it's much more likely that it will slip on certain surfaces, with the Defender you don't don't have this problem. It's a matter of taste, if you don't want to carry a brick on you buy the Commuter, or if you want extra protection and don't mind carrying a brick with you go with the Defender.

Hello, I use defender since 2 years now, just one problem : the polycarbonate screen is very striped and it's very difficult to use my DHD when the sun shines ...

You will be very happy with it....dropped my phone quite a few times now, only from maximum of 3-5ft onto concrete...whether it's landed face down, rear side down, slid across concrete etc....the case and screen protector have stopped ANY marks or scratches or even a spec on dust from appearing on the phone when taken out of the case.

Otterbox truly ROCKS!!:good::good::highfive::highfive:

I had a defender for almost as long as I've had the phone, also got one for my wife. The major issue I had was the clip case, the clip always managed to snap off on me. But true to their warranty, they replaced it for me. Alas, I no longer have the case, as my wife has taken it from me. As rugged as they are from drops and such, they are not much match for a determined husky hybrid puppy. The only other problem I had was the protective screen cover got scratched from something in my pocket and was a bit of an annoyance.

I'm on my second Commuter. I have to say, these things don't last too long. The little thin strips of plastic between the ports and the edge tend to break of really easily, especially the one by the power button. I've also got the same cracks stemming from the top corners of the phone in this new case. Its actually lasted a lot less longer than the original, which I only replaced because it developed those exact same issues. I'm almost considering just going caseless.

I have been using my commuter for around a year now and its still kicking. Defender just seemed like overkill. Quick question though, has anyone found a dock they can fit in while using either case?

Cheers

Has anyone used this nillkin case with kickstand?is it any good?any feed back would be appreciated.

Looks neat, but it doesn't look like it would offer much in the way of protection. Without that rubber inside of the otterbox my phone would have been pieces a long time ago. I wouldn't mind a kickstand though.

That's what i liked about it. you would think after all this time you would hae at least one option with a stand and the protection of a otterbox or seidio. this may be the last one you see due to the age of the phone.would be cool if you could fit a tpu underneath it ,that would help.

I've been rocking the defender for about 9 months now. The bad , it collects dog hair like nobodies business, the sharp plastic is hell on your ear, and the screen protector casts a reflective film over the screen. The good? I threw it down from 6 feet onto rough concrete. The case isn't at all damaged and the phone looks brand new. So it does its job.
