Has anyone else experienced this bug?

Sometimes when I exit apps using the back button, my nav and status bars don't change back to the launcher colors but still keep the in app color.
Then if I press the home button they switch back. Is this a common occurance?

I asked this once before but nobody responded or noticed.
I think I did have that problem in the past. Since Pie came out, I stopped really using the Navbar and haven't noticed this issue. Are you on the latest nightly? (Jan 23).

I'm getting apps for other devices like Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 showing up on my Play Store. How do I put it back to normal for it to recognize Nexus 4 compatible apps only??

Are they installing to your phone or something?

No. I'm not trying to install it. But I saw NEXUS 7 CAMERA for me to download and some other apps when searching on the Play Store. That's how I noticed.

The only apps that shouldn't show up that are designated as tablet apps only. If it's not designated specifically as a tablet, it will still show up. For example, the PGM Control app for the Galaxy Nexus will show up for any device.

Just found out how to get swype style typing to work, had to reflash gapps. thanks for the help I got in the other thread.
Now I have another question.. it has already been answered that upto now there is no mod for battery percentage (because PA is supposed to be as stock as possible) but I have been wondering about another thing.. the google search bar on the top of each homescreen.. normally this is possible to be disabled in stock but in paranoid rom i didnt find the setting? can somebody help me please?

I don't use stock launcher so don't know if it's possible, but any other launcher would work. I personally use Nova and don't have that search bar.

So I'm still having problems changing the color of the pie. Can anyone give me a more detailed explanation. I'm a PA newbie.
To change the colour of the pie.....
1 go to settings
2 scroll down to toolbars
3 in toolbars scroll down to "pie per app color" and select this ON
4 just below toolbars in the setting menu select hybrid properties
5 once in hybrid properties swipe the screen left to right to display the extra setting menu
6 select interface
7 once in interface scroll down to the catagory 'GLOBAL COLOR' this is the area that when you are not using expanded desktop would change the colors of navigation bar, status icon, navigation glow and so on, but when expanded desktop and pie are enabled these setting change the color of your pie.
Navigation bar color will change the color of your pie pieces
navigation bar color will change the color of the icons on your pie pieces
glow color will change will change the color of the pie piece you are currently hovering on
status bar color does nothing (besides changing the color of your hidden status bar)
status icon color changes the color of the time/date/battery indicator on your pie

Hope this helped and also keep in mind changing the color of the pie is only a feature of the jan 23rd build jan 22 and down this is not available.

Thanks!!

Re: ParanoidAndroid Help Thread and FAQ

Open up hybrid properties and swipe right to reveal the extended options. Click apps, then under the list of changes apps you should see settings and the settings icon, open that. Once open swipe across right to left one and you will be in the layout/ui tab and it will be set on 720p switch this to either 600p or 320p and apply. you will now have you full screen menu back.

Something that's been bugging me since I flashed this ROM; when in Expanded Desktop is there a way to fit more onto your desktop? Hard to explain but for example I have the search bar at the top and then a weather / clock widget. The gap between these is now bigger and no way to move them closer. So if the home screen is 4 x 5 it could now be like 4 x 6 or something??

Does that make sense to anyone?

Yeah, it makes sense. But I don't think this will be realised, this would rely almost completely on implementation by the maker of the launcher, so it might be possible in the stock launcher, but not in Apex or whatever other launcher you use.

OK thanks, I am on stock launcher btw. It's not that I fill my home screens with loads of stuff anyway it's just say a full screen widget (my calendar) is no longer full screen but something I can live with as other apps take advantage of the full screen ;)

Nova allows 11x11, I think Apex 8x8 or more can't remember for sure. I don't use the stock launcher but either one I mentioned will let change how much space each widget or icon occupies and the space in between.

Hi, I'm trying to install the imdb app but play store is saying my phone isn't compatible? I've tried restoring stock dpi to it but it still says the same.

Hi,
Basically a cross post from the main thread (with some modifications).
An AOSPA noobie here . Am a long time CM user. [since the galaxy s days] Was under the impression that PA would essentially be an AOKP like extremely feature packed ROM. Very impressed with the UI so far. The PIE control is awesome!!! And love the overall UI. Somehow feels really good.

However had a few doubts. It would be great if you could clear it up for me.

1. After enabling pie control is there any option to clear the notification panel [ similar to the clear all notification option which comes in stock android? ]
Right now, I am managing via installing smart status bar application which enables you to open the status bar from top for a limited time to clear all notifications.

But would love to know how it is done when pie is enabled?

UPDATE: OP, can you please consider updating your first post to reflect that it is now possible to access quick settings/notifications via the pie control itself.

2. I understand after searching the thread, that PA doesn't have support for profiles, as in CM10.1. I had found it particularly useful with tasker?
Essentially during night hours, I could disable led notifications, and auto sync via profiles plugin for tasker and during class hours, I could enable led notifications but mute everything including alarm.

Is there any app/workaround for that, which you guys are aware of?
Also is there any plan to implement this feature?

UPDATE: After reading first post, this implementation seems highly unlikely. But would really love it if you could suggest some alternative?

3. Is there any way to add options to the power menu? [wanted to add screenshot to the power menu, if it is available. else will use the power+vol down shortcut]

UPDATE: Unlike profiles, this is something which doesn't deviate from AOSP much and is quite useful, but I can do without it, I guess.

4. Is there any plan to implement custom auto brightness ? [like CM10 used to have where in you can create your own auto brightness settings]

UPDATE: I am not sure, whether PA ever had it? [CM10.1 doesn't have it as they are looking into updating the UI]. Can you please let me know if there are any plans to do it?

5. Is it possible for users to request for an addition to quick settings tile? I wanted the screen timeout option under quick settings.

6. After playing around with the hybrid engine, I decided that I would prefer standard navigation/pie control colours/theme for all apps. So I disabled the "Enable per app color"
Can you tell me how to enable a standard theme/color for all apps? [It was very time consuming to manually go and modify all apps listed under the apps bar; is there any easier way? ]

I would prefer the standard white colour for the pie controls instead of the pink.

EDIT:
Reenabled per app color and modified the values there to my liking. Then for each app, I clicked on automatic and set apply.

If this is the shortest way, please add it to op, for those who don't know.

The Play Store has been a bit wonky for me the last few days. But did you install the gapps from the OP of the PA thread? Don't use another one, if you have try deleting the data for the Store through settings and see if that helps. Sometimes a reboot helps a well...

Hello there,

I've tried to flash this ROM according to instructions, went to reboot and I'm stuck on the booting X logo (even waited for 25 minutes in one instance). I searched this thread with no results, there were some hits in the thread from Original Android Development forum, but people seem to just suggest "keep waiting":cyclops: or "wipe x, wipe y, reflash", etc...

So I'm coming from CM with Bricked kernel, decided to try Paranoid for more customization. I've even returned the phone back to factory conditions and repeated, similar results. Currently, I'm on AOKP with Faux. I want to try ParanoidAndroid, but not sure what I'm doing wrong.

-tried with pa_mako-2.99-11JAN2013-000145.zip as well as pa_mako-2.99-09JAN2013-191741.zip
-MD5 for both ROM and Gapps are sound
-using clockworkmod recovery

Thanks for reading

So I assume you tried wiping data and cache and then rebooting after flashing?
