3 quick questions: S-ON? Kernel? ROM?
It's not exactly a task. Android says that when it's building or rebuilding Dalvik cache. You should only see it after you flash a new ROM, or wipe your Dalvik Cache/Cache. You say you see this every time you boot? Do you have any ROM modifications installed?

FYI: Fastboot doesn't turn off the phone. It puts the phone into a state similar to a laptop or a computer sleeping or hibernating, which leaves it inactive but not exactly on (sometimes you can see your homescreen when you hit the power button, before it starts up again).

S-ON, 3.32.707.110, original rom, but i root it.
Dunno exactly what u mean about ROM modification.. unlock from htcdev, install EXT4 recovery and root it with superSU
upgrade to 3.33 with hboot 1.29 actually popped up everytime i turn on wifi, but i always choose later.. is this maybe cause the problem ?

thanks

Normally people would install a custom ROM and certain modifications (zRAM, skins and such) as you know. I suspected that a script was probably causing it but it's not.
The update shouldn't cause the problem as you haven't installed it yet, however let's try wiping your cache and dalvik cache using 4EXT anyway. Instructions are below if you (or anyone reading) don't know how to.
  1. Reboot into 4EXT recovery.
  2. Select 'Wipe | Format' from the list.
  3. Select 'Wipe cache + dalvik'
  4. Select yes (tick).
  5. Select yes (tick) when done.
  6. Press the power button.
  7. Select 'Reboot'
This time the 'Android is upgrading' should display more apps. Wait for it to complete, and then reboot to see if it appears again.

After wipe cache + dalvid, numbers of applications was about 108.
Then after restart again, the upgrading still appear, and back to 58 applications :(

Btw, i was using HD2 and always changing ROMs.
Now, I just want original ICS from HTC until some devs release stable JB.

ViperS JB is very stable just missing a camera and a few minor bugs.
Try updating the device and seeing what happens. There's really not much we can do on stock.
I would ask you to list the contents of /etc/init.d/ but there's really nothing that would cause a problem if you're on a stock kernel and ROM, other than an application of some sort.

Edit: Didnt ask to install the update again now and no more upgrading after restart.

You'll need to re-root. I take it you downloaded/installed roughly 58 apps?

I was realize that after updating to 3.33 i got "WiFi error". Cant turn it on.
I flash 3.33 RUU from bootloader, re-install 4EXT, re-root, and now everything is normal. No more "Android is upgrading" after restart, and wifi works.
And yea, 58 are my installed apps.

Thanks again DennisBold.
