Welcome

Dear XDA commnunity. Words cannot express my current joy and happiness. I followed sgfriodov's recent success and now my tablet is working fine with the Omni 4.4.2 rom. I also like the idea that I will never have to go through this process again with this tablet (I do believe that I read this about the Omni Rom).

Thank you to all who replied to my posts, endured my sometimes rants and most of all who had the patience of Saints.

After you apply all procedure for BigPart, try any of this ROMs:
I´m so happy ear that you finish the full process.
There are several details that will help you to fet fine tunnig of your XOOM.
If you installed OmniROM, yuu can get a real improvement just doing a few changes as follow:

  • set your cpu governor to ondemand,
  • io scheduler to row,
  • readahead buffer to 512,
  • tcp congestion to Westwood, and
  • enable immersive mode.

Something similar you can do do for CM ROM.

Any question? Just ask about!
Good luck!!;)

Hello
nice options, but, I don't know where they are. I have selected every option in SETUP that I can think of and I don't see any of them.
So, where are these settings?
Thanks

Tunning how to

  • Go to Setting, at bottom select Performance [I'm using OmniROM] tapping it
  • At the first page you will be able to adjust the processor speed, Governor & I/O scheduler; I'm using Interactive, you can try other.
  • In this first Performance page, do not forget to activate the changes on boot, tapping the bottom switch. Also here, tap the select options located at the right upper corner. It will show you 2 options, select Switch toTabbed. You will see several more options.

Be careful what you will do. If you are unsure do not touch options unknown for you, please!!! ADVICED!!!!!!!
See some screenshot.
Good luck

No quick settings, Xoom running CM 11 Bigpart

Hello all, I recently installed CM 11 Bigpart on my Xoom. It runs great, however, I had an issue with the home button not working and a missing lock screen. I fixed that by changing a setting via android terminal. I still can't get the quick settings to drop down from the upper right. Anyone know of a fix? Thanks.

Immersive On/Off

Hello all, I recently installed CM 11 Bigpart on my Xoom. It runs great, however, I had an issue with the home button not working and a missing lock screen. I fixed that by changing a setting via android terminal. I still can't get the quick settings to drop down from the upper right. Anyone know of a fix? Thanks.
If you have Immersive On, both top & bottom will desapear, but you can recover tapping on right upper corner and moving down, it will show you something like screenshot attached here.
Try tap Immersive to change it to off, then you will get back a non full screen, show in both upper & bottom options permanently.
With option Immersive On, you will get a full screen, but anyway you will be able to recover both upper & bottom menu just tapping it and moving down for upper menu and up for bottom one.
In CM there are several features that will allow to change it. Unfortunately at this moment I' m using OmniROM, so I can not show something to you.
I hope it can help you.

HELP! Stuck on OMNI splash screen after 4.4.2 upgrade

Hi. I followed all directions but when I boot my wifi XOOM, it won't get further than the Omni splash screen with blinking eyes. So I think I'm close. Any suggestions what I missed? A list of the actual Zip files that need to be flashed would probably remedy my particular situation. Thanks in advance

When you wipe or install .zips, it's probably complaining about not being able to mount /cache. You have to do the wipe in a careful sequence. Follow the instructions in this post carefully. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49556190&postcount=507

I installed the Omni Kitkat on my Xoom, but the latest update has turned on the charging LED when the device is on dock. When charging, the LED is solid white and when charged it blinks green and white. The checkbox to disable it under the Display settings doesn't work. Is there anyway to disable the charging light? Its about as bright as a small pen flashlight and I keep it near my bed at night...

How long did you wait? It took nearly 35 minutes to get past the Omni splash screen when I initially installed it.

Stuck in Motorola logo or omni logo? Try enter recovery mode. Wipe cache and dalvik cache. Restart and first time will take around 10 minutes to start.

If you have no permission to wipe mean your big part is not properly done. Refer to this to setup big part correctly.

I finally managed to continue but then I could only see the back button, the Wi-Fi signal and the battery.
I installed cyanogen and it works fine...:D

You no need install any new image, just do it. (After Big Part process at point 9)

Flash omni-4.4.2-201XXXXX-wingray-HOMEMADE_XXXX.zip
Flash gapps-xxxx.zip
Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip
Reboot

Good luck

I bought my used Xoom wifi about a year ago, immediately rooted it and ran various CM 4.2's. I decided to take the leap of re-partitioning and installed the unofficial OmniRom Kit Kat 4.4.2 making sure I explicitly followed ALL the directions and procedures. This has brought the device back to life and I am very pleased that it works so well. However, I am always trying to go to the next step so I have made the changes you and others have recommended here. Everything is good but I am curious, is there more I can be doing to increase the speed and overall performance or are we at the point where we can't tweak the hardware anymore? Thanks!

OMNIROM TCP congestion setting for XOOM

Sigfridov,
The only setting I cannot find is the TCP congestion. I've been running Omnirom on my Xoom since late January and it's running great. Please help me find the TCP congestion setting.

Thank you,
Stanl56

I found the way to adjust the TCP congestion setting by downloading Trickster Mod from the Play Store. I set the mode to Westwood based on suggestions from other posts I have read.

So after following the repartition steps, and flashing omnirom, the gapps package and the super su update, I somehow have lost root? My recovery is still twrp and I am running omni, but cannot get root. Theoretically I should be able to use the universal root package correct? Or is there another method I should try?
