Bought a Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi from best buy on black Friday. Just got around to opening the thing the other day, i got around to CWM and got it rooted but that's about as far as i get. Now im trying to install apps from the market but when i click the market i get a "no connection" message, i'm 2 feet away from my wireless router.

Well it means you have no connection. Have you checked your wifi settings on the Streak? Have you tried opening the browser? And last of all, please don't post with vague simple questions. If you want help, do some reading first

First of all Cdzo, there's no need to be so unhelpful, and if anything a bit rude too.. I can totally understand this persons problem and having suffered the same issue myself I can say that I've done a bit of reading up before coming here to consult with the experts. This is a place for people to help each other out after all.

In regards to this problem, if it helps you help us cdzo, I am fully connected to my wifi router and have full access to the internet, other app stores etc. it just appears that the official Android market keeps saying "no connection" even though we are fully connected.

I have tried restarts, factory resets and am running the totally unmodified honeycomb Dell ROM.

Hope this shines a bit more light on our issues

1) first thing I recommend is going to applications and clearing the cache for the market updater

2) clear cache and data for the market app in applications

3) go into wifi and forget the connection

4) restart the streak, once rebooted setup the wifi connection again

5) go to your google talk app and sign in BEFORE going to the market

6) if this doesn't solve your problem then my suggestion would be a factory reset because you have a problem with your "gapps"

Hiya Cdzo72.

i just wanted to come back and thank you for your help on this.

i did try everything but to no avail, however, doing the hard reset and following the process again, clearing out the cache, and running google talk first seemed to solve the issue ;-)

you my friend are a lagend ;-)

Hate you had to do a factory reset, those always suck... but glad you got up and running again. Word of advice, clear that market cache and market data about once a week so you don't have any trouble with updates and update notifications

have u reset it recently?

If u have recently reset it than it has reset the time and date therefore it cannot update or know what the newest apps are or display the latest news. To set the date and time correct again go to settings and under it will say date and time, set it there. ;) :p  :) :D :silly:  !!!!!!!!!!!!!
